RE: Agnes D. Homeier, # 124079370
Hi, Robert,
George Homeier died 8 Nov 1935 in Marquette and is also buried in Park Cemetery. That's from his death certificate which is available online at seekingmichigan.com in their database "Death Records, 1921-1947" under "George Theo Homeier." As for Rose, she died in March 1970, from the Social Security Death Index (some trees in Ancestry say 6 Mar 1970). Having died that recently, I don't think there's any database online that would have her death certificate to see where she was buried. Most likely it was Park Cemetery since her husband and daughter were buried there, and she died in Marquette too. See, there are really only two cemeteries in Marquette, Holy Cross (Catholic) and Park Cemetery (Protestant, Jewish, etc.). Unless she was Catholic, she really ought to be buried in Park Cemetery.

I'm not currently adding any memorials to FindaGrave because I've got a couple other big projects going. I'm also not related to the Homeiers. You could make memorials for George and Rose if you want though. I'd be happy to transfer Agnes's memorial to you anytime too. Just ask!

RE: Photos from Shanklin's Cemetery
Robert,

I just added the remaining photographs that I took last week to the memorials in Shanklin Cemetery. The only marker that was listed in the "Cemeteries of Christian County, Kentucky" that I was not able to identify a photograph for was for George W. Smith. There was also a memorial for Mary Ann Higgins Shanklin, but she was not included in the book compiled by the Christian Society, Inc. in 2005, so there may not have been a marker erected for her or it has disappeared over time.

This cemetery is near the Christian County/Todd County line, so this is why you may find it listed in both counties.

The cemetery is located next to a residence under a canopy of trees. The marker all face east, and unfortunately, I was there in the early evening when the sun was behind the markers and it was not the optimal time to photograph. A few of the photographs that I took next to the property line I converted to black and white format to try to enhance the marker and reduce the focus of the background.

Thanks for all of your contributions to this site. Happy hunting.

Sincerely,
D. L. Lee

Marie Oligney Love
Robert, you posted a photo of Marie Oligney on her Find A Grave memorial page, #69972749. She is my 2nd Grand Aunt, sister of my G-G-Grandfather Wilfred Oligney. Would you please allow me to use your photo in my family tree on Ancestry.com? I have no other pictures of her to use. Thank you.

Richard Gill
Perhaps he was buried at the old Pioneer
Midhurst Cemetery. There are the remains of
markers in the bush around the Cemetery. In
most Cases they are only large bases. I have
checked the bush for markers with names,
there are none.
The markers where gaithered in a display
area near the gate. His place may be lost.

The Gill farm is just North of the
Pioneer Cemetery, on Gill Rd.

My Grt Aunt lived just North of the Gills.
