RE: Baltazor Family
Monica = You sound almost as pleased as I was when I found Eugenie Simmoneau's grave and a volunteer took a picture for me. Congratulation on your gradution. Now you have the tools to be a good geneologist. Don't ever copy someone else's work into yours without checking it out first. This goes for the family trees on Ancestry.com. Some of them are awful The Cloud County LIbrary is a good place to start. Good luck Wilda.

RE: Baltazor Family
Monica - I think you are related to Theodore and Aldea. Their son Gabriel has memorial #84257424 in Saint Concordia Cemetery. These families are all connected.

My mother was Agnes Collier buried in the Vineland Cemetery, Clarkston. Asotin County, Washington. #28623161

About our name: It's changed over the years. Gregoire left out an h so we were then Baltazor. Before that we were Balthazor. When we came from Canada in 1849 we had to drop the dit part off our name. Dit was "also known as" or "alias". As Balthazor dit Saint Martin would be Balthazor also known as Saint Martin. We had to chose which we would be in the US. Some decided to be Saint Martin and then dropped the Saint. This doesn't mean much now but as you go along you'll run into much confusion on our name. Wilda

RE: Baltazor Family
Hello Monica, I tried sending e-mail to the address given, but it did not go through. I have a small Balthazar database and can send it to you as an attachment. Please tell me first the names of your Balthazar grandfather and great grandfather, then I can make sure you are in the database and I can follow that direct line back to Canada. I'm not related, but a French-Canadian genealogist in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties in Illinois. Regards,
Norma Meier
