|L. Finley||RE: Albert VanDerwerken|
Thanks so much for sending the memorial for Albert. I had entered his memorial from the cemetery transcription in 2010, and was contracted in November 2013 by the contributor who photographed and posted the photo of Albert and his wife's joint stone. We were both concerned that Albert might still be living as his death date was not on the stone. I tried twice to contact the cemetery to inquire, but was unable to reach them either time. I did not want to remove the memorial without verification that he was living, because his wife's obituary noted that they had no surviving children and I did not want for his to not have a memorial. I questioned if the lack of a death inscription might just be due to the fact that there were no survivors to take care of this. As his age was over 100 it seemed likely he was deceased, however, it has bothered me this last few months as the last thing I would want is to post a memorial for someone living. You kindly sending this information has put my mind at rest.
