I have been researching my ancestors for many years which all started with 3 pictures my mother gave me for christmas of my grandparents, great grandparents and great-great grandfather, Morgan Dove BLANDFORD. With a name like that, who wouldn't be interested in learning more about him! Within months the surnames multiplied like bunnies, the trips to the cemeteries became my weekend obsession and the trips to the State Archives in Trenton became planned days off.
I have collected transcriptions from numerous cemeteries and would love to help anyone else that may need any help with finding their relatives. I am in the Central New Jersey area and researching many of the "old Jersey names" and may have info on someone you may be looking for. Here are a few of the names:
ARCHER, BUCKALEW, SMITH, BLANDFORD, HULSE, CUBBERLEY, HAINES, ALBRIGHT, CRAIG, IVINS, SCOTT, BELL, REED, VALENTINE, and too many more to list.
Hope I can be of help....Happy Hunting.

I grew up in New Egypt; lived on Archertown Road and saw the photo of "Buckalew" with woven baskets in background. Do you have any information on where that photo may have been taken? I have a basket from one of my relatives a 2 or 3 Times great uncle "Dunfee"...he was blind and I was told he worked making baskets.

So sorry it took so long! Your unread message got buried in the wrong email folder, and I just found it this evening.
Thank you, and please pass on our respects to Officer Klink's family.

I saw the great photos you have posted for Mary Emma Scott Ivins. By chance, do you have any photos of her daughter Lydia & son-in-law William Wesley Lockwood? William is my great uncle. Almost all of my Lockwood family was born & died in Trenton.

Very interesting. I visited the cemeteries around New Egypt last June.
Thank you for the offer. I am helping my mother apply to the DAR and have requested vital records from Trenton. However, their records do not go back far enough. Do you have birth and/or marriage records for Pvt. Lewis Southard, Sr. b. 2 May 1838 and his wife Abigail John b. around 1840? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Joanne, No problem with the help. I'm more that glad to do so. It is important that the Memorial are correct and have as much information as we can add. I too have some relatives in that same cemetery, I fact I work next door at the school to the cemetery. Best wishes to you...John

Hi Joanne, I have deleted the duplicate memorial and moved the picture over to the other Memorial. I'm also going to transfer the memorial to you. Since your related to her. This way if you have any other information you would be able to add it. Thank you for the heads up! John
Thanks for the photo for George Burchell.
I noticed you have Mary Buckalew Southard and Amanda Buckalew Southard in your virtual cemetery. Is there a relation to you or your husband? My mother's maiden name is Southard and we have ancestors in the New Egypt, NJ area.
