Gonsalves request
I did find a Benito Gonsalves at St. Catherine's Cemetery: born 1871, died 1936. If this is correct, I will post the photo. You can contact me at kasz.maciag@gmail.com

RE: Harriett Laura Root Norem
My pleasure. Usually the death certificate will have final disposition information. Try contacting the county recorder's office in San Juan County, WA to get a copy of it or locate a copy of her obituary.

Harriett Laura Root Norem
No sure why you're asking again for a photo of her marker. The office has no record of her at Ft Rosecrans. While Walter's ashes are placed in an area that did not exist in 1995 you can see by the photo her name does not appear on the marker.

After doing a little research it appears Walter was married twice after his divorce from Harriett Laura Root b. 28 SEP 1926 in San Diego County, CA d. 8 MAY 1995 in San Juan County, WA. First to Sharon b. 10 AUG 1937 d. 11 FEB 1983 and then to Arlette Marye Covington married 12 NOV 1983 divorced 29 AUG 1984.

Since the couple divorced Harriet would not have been buried at Ft Rosecrans. Please remove the photo request and move the memorial to Burial Unknown. Thanks.

RE: Root Family
Well, Sebastian Root did have a son John as well as my ancestor Jacob, also sons Sebastian and Jost. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about his son John, though I have a friend who might -- she's done more general work on the Root family while I have stuck to my branch.

All requested treansfers have been made. What is your earliest Root ancestor that you have traced? Mine is Sebastian Root, who died in 1793 through his son Jacob.

I tranferred those whose memorial numbers were correct. I also added photos of the headstones to those that needed them.

Aloha! I have checked the NGL

Nina Blum Root
5 Feb 1898 California
18 Jun 1994 San Diego

and didn't find any listing for her. Find a Grave transferred most of the VA records back in 2000 and if she was in Ft Rosecrans the record should have been transferred at that time but I will stop at the office to check with them.

Since she passed away in San Diego County you could order a death certificate from the county recorder's office. The name of the funeral home should be on there and maybe the final disposition.

I'll let you know what I find.
