RE: Wendell Vance Elli
Dear Evelyn, How nice to hear from you. I never received any letter from you. I wish that I had. I have been working on my John's family history now for over 25 years. John and I just celebrated are 25 wedding anniversary on January 21, 2014. I was able to find a grave for Jasper but no other information on him. John and I had met with his son Ernest Elli a couple of time before he died but he didn't know anything about the family. I have one picture of Grandma Anna with a man that we don't know who it is. It is believed to be her second husband Michael Borbus who was killed in a mine accident in 1942. She is buried beside him at Lawnwood cemetery in Morgantown WV beside grandpa Wendell. I have been looking for your father for years. Can you tell me more about Him and his family. Would love to add everyone to the tree. I have never been able to find anything out about Grandpa Wendell's dad. Wendell never used the suffix Jr. so was not sure about who his father was.
Before Aunt Mary died, she had came to West Virginia to visit my husband mother. Mary Lou Elli-Bukrim-Buchanan-Payne. She was a very nice older lady but really didn't know anything about her real father. She told us that all the children had called Mike Borbus dad and that is who they had all known as their father. As for Steve Bogeka, Grandma Anna divorce him because she told Wendell he was a pervert. I have never been able to find the Elli family in any census record until 1930. Wendell was born September 18, 1918 but I have never been able to find him or the family in the 1920 census. I know that Wendell, Aunt Mary, and Jasper were born in Coraopolis, Pa with is in Allegheny county.
Wendell had told the family and Grandma Ila (his wife) that he had two brothers and one sister which Grandma Elli had met on different occasions. I have never heard that there was more children. I know that Anna never had any children with her other 3 husbands. Do you know what might have happened to them.
I got Wendell's SSI form and it has Wendell Elli as his father and his mothers name as Amalia Koch. Then on his birth certificate is also has Father Wendell Elli and Mother Amalia Koch. But on his death record it has father unknown and mother as Anna Koch.
I hope to hear from you soon and I will get the picture I have of Anna and scan it so that I can send you a copy. I would love to see the picture you have.
Jasper is in my find a grave site I know that he died in Cook County Ill, and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much for reaching out to us.
