I have had a lot of fun in the past two years researching my family history. Some of it has been a challenge. But when a missing piece is discovered, it is all worth the trouble. I appreciate the efforts of so many people I will never meet who have preserved part of their lives for me to learn about now.

I hope that I can help others discover a part of their family history through volunteering where I can.

Thank you for finding his headstone, I was trying to research Schrull's who came from Germany/Poland/Russia to the US. My great grandfather was a German who had his birth place changed on his records, like Germany, Poland, and Russia.

Thanks for the photo! We always feel disheartened for people when there is no headstone but we take photos of the area as you did. We have wondered if we should do that. Being on the receiving end this time, we know what it is like and YES, it is a good thing to see the area and the spot even if there isn't a headstone! Phoebe was Eva's mother and the Mahatcke's her aunt and uncle. Believe it or not, this is the bloodline of my brother-in-law, not even a relative of mine! Thanks for getting the photo! If we can be of help to you down here in Oz, please let us know!

Thank you for the great photo you took. It helped to clear him up. His name is on two headstones in two different cemeteries, with two different wives. Seems 2nd wives can do whatever they want when the spouse dies...grins.
