Dove Martin

Just as an FYI the picture on the right hand side of a woman and child is not Dove. It is actually a picture of Myrtle Alice (Huff) Kisner and her daughter Denise. Alice recently passed away (July 22, 2015) and her info is on here along with her husband Dale Kisner (my uncle)

Sophia Martin at Abram Smith Cemetery
I'm going to fill the photo request for a close up photo of Sophia Martin's headstone, but I'm sorry to say that it's not very much help. The writing is small compared to each carved letter, and it's difficult to read, even in person. However, I will go ahead and post it. I took a photo from different angles, and I will go ahead and post them all. Hope it helps.

RE: Re: Louis DeMoss
Hi Kathy,
I can not give you the information you requested in your message to me (posted below) at this time. As I indicated in my previous message to you, a request was made last year for a volunteer to go out to the cemetery and see if they can locate a headstone or burial location at the cemetery for him. To date, no one has gone out to the cemetery, hopefully, someone will eventually.
The memorial on Find A Grave was created for him, based on family info passed down that he is buried there. That is all I can give you at this time. I may try to go to West Virginia this summer and do the cemetery search myself, but I live near the Indiana border in Ohio, so it is about a four hour drive for me. If I turn up something different, then adjustments will be made to his memorial. Sorry I can't be of further help at this time.
Have a great day,

RE: Re: Louis DeMoss
Hi Debbie, Thanks for your quick reply. Glad to hear you are related to Louis Demoss 1694-1742. Maybe you can help me by confirming that he is actually buried at Morgan Chapel and that the info on this site comes from either church records or his tombstone. Do you know where the church records can be found? I am also a direct descendant and live not far from his Md. plantation "Frenchman's Repose". Any info appreciated.

Re: Louis DeMoss
Hello Kathy,
I am responding to your message concerning Louis DeMoss. I do not know if his grave is marked at this time, however, a request was submitted last year asking for a volunteer to go to the cemetery to see if the grave for Louis is marked; to date no one has "claimed" the request. As for your request asking me to transfer the memorial to you, I do not transfer memorials to which I have a family tie, sorry.
Have a great evening,
Debbie R.

Joh C. Turner
Hi Kathy,
I see you've joined the site & even created a record for John C. Turner. And, I see you've enter a plot designation for him as well.
As soon as the weather clears up & warms up some, I'll go to the cemetery and see if I can find his marker & photograph it for you.
My genealogical print outs have been in a pile since before I had my stroke back in August. All I've done since I've been home is add to it! Finally today I began to sort it! First thing I came across was your old email & photo of John C.
I remember I couldn't find him before in the cemetery. Now that I have the plot designation hopefully I'll find that marker. Keep your fingers crossed!
Cuz'n John
