Andrew Malone Hill
I saw on a public message board where you said that Capt. Andrew Malone Hill was your Great Great Grandfather. We are distant cousins since William Langdon Hill (his Uncle Billy) was my Great Great Grandfather. On Ancestry.com I found your relative's war record twice. He served with the 16th Alabama Infantry for the duration of the war and was wounded. He earned the rank of Captain by the time the war ended. His younger brother John Paul Hill was killed in action while storming the 2nd Union breastworks at the battle of Franklin, Tennessee. Your GG Grandfather found his body in the evening after the battle lying partially under General Cleburne's dead horse. The General also died in the assault. J.P. Hill is buried in the Confederate Cemetery at Franklin. Not sure how much of this you already know.
