Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Virginia. My husband and I retired in December of 2012. We started working on our family tree together and discovered Find A Grave. My husband became a photo volunteer and we enjoy going to the cemeteries and finding the stones together. I make a special effort to create memorials for all infants and young children as well as our military.

I find this work very rewarding and love helping people find their loved ones final resting place. Thank you Find A Grave for creating such a wonderful website.

I am happy to transfer a memorial as long as it meets the Find A Grave guidelines.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Good catch on the date of death! Don't know where my brain was when I created Thomas Purcell's memorial, as I truly did have his correct date in my records.
Thanks again,
Kathleen

Good catch, Joyce. I went back and checked. The cemetery's burial record has 1896, but her death certificate correctly has 1868. I have changed the date on Elizabeth's page accordingly. Thanks.

The spouse of Rosetta (Harris) Roehrig was John A Roehrig - they are both buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. His memorial # is 93456120. Thanks for your inquiry.
