Athena Cemetery Photo's
Please read and follow Find A Grave guide lines.

No cemetery photo's on a memorial, and "if there is already a photo of the headstone, do not add a second similar photo"

"Do not add photos of the cemetery gate to the memorial but instead add them to the cemetery's page."

"How do I add a cemetery photo?
Go to the main cemetery page and click on the 'Add a photo for this cemetery' button.
Cemetery photos can include the main gate, the cemetery sign, or panoramic view of the cemetery. Do not submit aerial or other photos taken from Google Maps, Google Earth, or similar websites."

William Clark in Athena
Hi Tina! How nice of you to offer to do the photo request for me : ) There is a plot location given on the memorial, but the person who put it there was the person who added the memorial, so unfortunately I don't know much about the cemetery layout. The thing I'm trying to figure out is if this is actually my relative or not. I gave Darlene the dates because (if I recall) no dates were on her transcription. I wanted to tell you that so you don't get confused if the dates on the headstone don't match what is on the memorial. There is definitely a William Clark there, though - so whoever it is, it would really help to have the photo! In fact, that's why the photo is so important to me : ) If you have any questions, my e-mail is on my contributor page. Feel free to write me there if you have any questions or you can leave a note on my page if you want. Thanks again very much!

RE: Green Hills Memorial Park
I'm glad GH has been a comfort. It's a very difficult time for you and they are very helpful.

Taking pictures can be a challenge at times. Some of the named areas such as Ocean View can be confusing without plot maps. GH has maps available. I'm travelling on business the next month so my visits to GH are going to be hit and miss. In a month or so my schedule settles down so if you still feel like giving it go let me know.

It's very rewarding taking volunteer pictures. Some requests are by genealogist's but many are from family members. Some people never had to the chance to see the resting place of a relative and are very grateful for the pictures.

RE: Green Hills Memorial Park
Hi Tina,

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Green Hills is a wonderful cemetery with a very caring ownership and staff.

The requests get claimed pretty quickly. I think it's a matter of who gets to the claim page first. There are four or five volunteers at least.

GreenHills Stones Calling is volunteer that manages most of the memorials that haven't been claimed. Warren Weimer is another volunteer that originally loaded the almost 100,000 plots on to Find A Grave. He's a great reference for any questions.

Again I'm very sorry for your loss. Please email me with any questions you might have. Jeff@SettlementConsulting.com

Sincerely,
Jeff
