I have been working on my family tree for several years. Finding headstones and who's buried near each other is very helpful for distinguishing family members. I was looking for my Florissant relatives' burial sites. I could not find the ones buried before the 1870s. I knew about The Spanish Land Grant Park/Old St Ferdinand Cemetery and finally tracked down the parish record book. I found some of my relatives and added them. Then I decided to add the rest of the records to help others who do not live in the area to find their relatives.

This is in gratitude to many people (some nearby and some overseas) who helped me find my relatives by putting information they found on Find A Grave or other internet sites. The records that I have added are from: "Registre des Sepultures faites dans le Cimetière De la paroisse de St Ferdinand, Diocèse de Louisiane, commencé le premier de janvier L'année mil huit cent vingt deux 1822." Which translates to "Record of the Burials made in the Cemetery Of the parish of St Ferdinand, Diocese of Louisiana, beginning the first of January In the year one thousand eight hundred twenty two 1822." Found at:

St. Louis County Library – Headquarters
Tier 5 (top floor)
1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63131-3598

Old St. Ferdinand Burial Records
Roll 167, Item 5

It has 95 pages and runs from 1822 to July 1876. As the Old St. Ferdinand information says in Find A Grave some people were moved after the cemetery was closed. If you know that someone that I have put on this site was moved to another cemetery, please let me know.

Thank you!
Dear Sheila,

I cannot believe I didn't see that before! Thank you very MUCH for adding people buried in Florissant St. Ferdinand Cemetery. I didn't have a death date for Emilie Rousselle Tourville, I'm still searching for Charles, but thanks to you, Émilie's case is closed :)

Thanks so much for the transfer. It's always a thrill when you can connect someone.

Amable and Marie St. Cin
Thanks so much for doing the research on the Old Saint Ferdinand Cemetery. Amable (that's the spelling in our records) is indeed the husband Marie St. Cin (nee Baudoin). I have an alternate birth date of 1782, but it seems the age of 84 years is about right. They are my 4X great grandparents. I really appreciate what you have done. Blessings, Rich
