I proudly wore Capt Leo T Profilet's POW bracelet until I was notified he was home! I immediately mailed him the bracelet, and we exchanged letters and phone calls for many years. A big, strong, solid man exchanging letters with a 13 year old. Always asking about how I was getting along! The impact of that in my young life was priceless. We lost touch after I started my own family, and I thought of him often. I was saddened by his passing, but I believe he knows how he touched my life. ❤

I have a POW bracelet I wore with your Dad's name
CAPT. LEO PROFILET
Back in 1973, after I knew he had returned, I mailed it to your Dad. He mailed it back to me with a handwritten note which says,
14 May '73
Please keep this bracelet as a souvenir of a grateful guy!
Leo T. Profilet
I had always hoped to someday meet "my hero" but I see he passed away in 2004. I sure wish I could have told him "THANK YOU for your service"....

Hi, Cathy! I transferred your dad's memorial to your care. May he rest in peace and his memory live on through this memorial for generations to come. Ron
Cathy, thank you for sponsoring Leo Profilet's memorial. If he is a relation I would be happy to transfer the care of this memorial to your care. I created this memorial after being told of this man's service by my friend Monte Eiserman. I found it a fitting memorial to an American hero. Ron
