I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother living in California. History, Genealogy, Writing and Photography are hobbies I've enjoyed for many years. At this time in my life, too many of my family and dear friends have passed away. Findagrave is a nice way to preserve their memories.|

|Julie||RE: Your family histories|
The person I'm researching is John McTigue (and his wife and descendants). I saw that you'd noted he was from County Clare, but I was curious to see if your "Blair Family History" (noted on his FindAGrave record) might mention precisely from where in Ireland he was from. I'm trying to see if I can tie him to the boxer Mike McTigue (who was also from County Clare--Kilnamona--but a little later). Then, I was thinking, since you've done so much research (I've seen your other FindAGrave notes), I might as well ask if you would like to donate any of your family histories (if you've done them in book form) to our library (so others can use them for research). I was having trouble finding any libraries that had your "Blair Family History" (because I was going to seek out the book to investigate). Anyway, I appreciate your research and time!

Would you consider donating any of the family histories you've written to the Los Angeles Public Library? I'm the genealogy librarian there, and we make a point of collecting as many self-published family histories by Californians as possible--your Blair Family History is not to be found anywhere! If you would like, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for all your hard work! We appreciate it!
Cheers, Julie Huffman

|Susan Montague Lundt||RE: John Calkins Parents|
Do you have a copy of the Calkins genealogy mentioned in John Calkins' Find A Grave memorial? Is it available for purchase? I have not found the proof yet for his parents. Can you point me in the right direction?
|Susan Montague Lundt||John Calkins Parents|
I am a descendant of John Calkins and Ruth Crawford through their daughter Emily. Do you have any of the books about the Calkins family available? I am interested in finding out more about John Calkins ancestry. Also, do you know what the relationship is between John Calkins and the Hannah Calkins buried in the same cemetery
|paul christensen||Raymond J Christensen|
I am looking for my grandfather Raymond JAMES Christensen.
What brings me to you is the birth date on your Raymond JOHN Christensen. May 15. That is the correct date for Raymond JAMES and about the right year 1895 to 1897.
From Ancestry Records Raymond JOHN's birth date looks to be Jul 16 1895 and it looks like he died in LA in 1960. The parents match up, I think.
So, the birthdate is incorrect, should be Jul 16 1895 or the middle name is incorrect, not JOHN but JAMES. That changes the family info also.
My Grandfather lived in the Bay Area from 1920 to 1946, and beyond, as far as I know. It would not be unusual for him to remarry in the 50's and live in Santa Cruz.
Also, with late marriages and no direct children, info on the orphan spouse can be limited.
If you are sure you have the right data for Raymond JOHN then that is that.
However, If you are sure of the birth date but not the middle name then he may be Raymond JAMES.
Do you know:
Was he a plumber?
Did he live in Alameda 1920 - 1940?
Did he liver in SF?
Where/when did he meet Norma Glennetta Tierney?
If my thinking is correct, and he is Raymond JAMES then that will complete the end of his story for me, and give you some new info about his past from me. I have the middle so far. Still can not find his birth data except born in Illinois from several census and marriage data.
Well, if you have the time, give me a call so we can compare notes.

Dorothy Shaw's memorial transfer to your care. I took the photo and created the memorial as part of a photo survey project. No relation to me.
By the way, this link provides instructions on editing the Burial location. No need to delete and then create a new memorial at the correct cemetery.

|Charlie Degener||RE: Amos Boynton Pollard|
Thank you for your prompt response. I will contact Lydia. I met her at a Pollard funeral years ago. She compiled histories of Cavendish families.
|Charlie Degener||Amos Boynton Pollard|
I was excited to see that you posted a picture of Amos Boynton Pollard. He is my 4th Great Grandfather. I wonder if you could send me a clearer copy of the photo that I could print and then frame and hang on my wall with his decedents?
