Bio Photo Bringing life to stories of the past...

I am the youngest Grand Daughter of Charlie Jenkins and Lessie Myrtle Bennett. As a proud Bennett I am in search of stories and photos of the past that link us all together.

To know a name is wonderful, but to know the person and face is amazing.

Can you please contact me at in the next day or so. I am looking to see if you may be able to assist me in locating some information about the relatives you have buried at the Wilson Cemetery on the Prison property.

Than You.

RE: Oscar Brooks
Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. It's been that kind of week.

I don't have any further info on Oscar. His father was listed as Mulatto in the 1850 and 1880 census. Oscar listed as Mulatto in 1880 (his mother as white), but white on other records as well as his death certificate.

Will transfer Oscar to you.

Have a Merry Christmas...Robin

RE: Sybil Ward
Find A Grave is currently managing her memorial. You'll have to send a request to them to get it. Since she was your aunt, they will probably transfer it to you.

Good luck! :)

Bennett Family of Lumberton
My husband is the grandson of Mary Hinson, sister of Catherine Hinson, who married Johnny Bennett. We are sorry to hear his "Uncle Johnny" died this year. Chris has many fond memories of visiting his Aunt Catherine and swimming in the pool, and of her grand piano. If you'd like to share memories, please email us!

RE: Webster Cemetery, SC
Candy, Yes, I'm related to the Websters in Webster Cemetery, Marlboro County. My grandmother, Daisy Lee Webster Patrick, (buried Center Grove Cemetery, Chesterfield County) was a daughter of Logan W. and Laura Jane Parker Webster who are in Webster Cemetery. I visited Webster Cemetery about 25 years ago looking for the actual sites but could not find markers. I went back a few years ago only to see that the Fed Gov't has the whole area fenced in. I was told by a relative in Marlboro County that the graves were going to be removed to another location.

RE: Webster
Hi, Candy:
I'm not related to the Webster's. If there are any of your family members that I've set up at the Webster cemetery, and would like for me to transfer them to you, just let me know.
I'm very curious about how you were able to locate the cemetery on the prison grounds!
