I just spent a few hours walking thru St. Mark's (not the churchyard, the cemetery) looking for your William Taffe. I did not find him, but will call tomorrow and see if I can get any info from the church.

Anyhow, I DID find a stone for an Edward Taffe (1855 - 1913). He was stuffed in between two folks named Batty.

Let me know if you want the photo for Edward Taffe and I will let you know how I make out with the church.

Michael McCue and Anna Slavin
Hi Mary, I am tracing the Slavin family. A cousin who is tracing the Foley tree told me of an Anna McCue of Ossining who was the daughter of Michael and Anna Slavin McCue.

Do you have any information on Michael McCue's family tree? It appears that this Michael may be the brother of Anna McCue Foley.

Thank you for any help. Pat

RE: William Taffe
Ah! I may be looking in the wrong cemetery. St. Mark has a cemetery on it's church grounds and another one about a mile away that is much larger. I've been looking in the larger one. I'll take a look in the churchyard. This is causing some confusion. It needs to be fixed on Find-a-Grave. There is a photo of the larger cemetery on the "Churchyard" page. We need to clarify that there are 2 places called St. Mark's. I'll let you know if/when I find him.

William Taffe
According to research done in 1996 on the tombstones, which were checked against church records, there is no listing for William Taffe. There is the main family name stone in Sec E, but there are no names carved on it and no William in the ledger. Edward has a stone. On the list of unmarked graves is a "Mrs.", Ed, Edward, Mrs.Estella, and a Mary E. Do you have a death certificate that states he was going to be buried here? Perhaps you can contact the church. The rectory #215-788-2319. I will keep my eyes open for him and post any new info.
