Matt, First and foremost is the state of yhe cemetery. The stones, the ones visible, are readable but did not find the Rounds. The newest stone has been desicrated. Kids i imagine. Anyway I have a list. Send me an email danlcunningham@yahoo. Second, How are you related?

RE: 6 picture requests
Hi Matt,

They might be in the other Rockford Cemetery as there is a large plot with the same names there. I will take a look tonight and let you know.

Good ideas about winter and foliage dying. :-) However, where I live, if I wait until too far into winter, I will be in 3 feet of snow! Bye for now!

6 picture requests
Hi Matt,

I am going to the Rockford Pioneer Cemetery this week to try and locate the 6 requests you have. Just a quick note that this cemetery is very small and most of the area is overgrown with trees and ground covering. There are very few stones that can be found anymore, and the ones that can be found, you can not make out much on them. I pray that I can find who you are requesting. Wish me luck!!

Claudette Darling
Rounds family
Hello Matt,
You should be getting a notification from Find A Grave that I fulfilled your photo request for Henry C. Rounds. I also took a picture of his wife's tombstone--Adda M. Rounds, and put it on her memorial. There was another tombstone next to Henry's for a Sarah Rounds Brooks, 1849--1944. If you have information on her and want to make a memorial page, let me know and I will add the photo I took of her tombstone.

Caroline (Koengeter) Finkbeiner
Matt,

I do research in Ancestry.com and FamilySearch, and at the local Family History library and Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County. Caroline's January birth month was given in the 1900 census.

Barbara Burns (bjburns@i2k.com) did a cemetery reading in September 2002 that was posted here: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~miwashte/cemstjames.html. This is where the specific date came from. Barbara probably had access to church records.

Finkbeiner, Christian Mar 1, 1860--Sep 14, 1923
Finkbeiner, Caroline (nee Koengeter) Jan 25, 1868--Jan 10, 1938
Finkbeiner, George A. Jul 29, 1890--Feb 12, 1962
Finkbeiner, Karl F. Jun 10, 1889--Dec 7, 1901

Try emailing Barbara for her source or, better yet, write directly to the church requesting a copy of the cemetery record and the entries in the church's marriage and death registers if they have them. (There are a lot of Finkbeiners here, so just ask for one or two people at a time and offer to pay for copies or make a donation to the church each time.)

Finkbeiners of Saint James in Saline
Thank you very much for documenting all of these Finkbeiner graves! I grew up in Ypsilanti and had no idea I had so many relatives buried in that cemetery. Where did you get the info that isn't on the headstones? For example, I haven't found (my great-great grandmother) Caroline (Koengeter) Finkbeiner's birth date on any documents I've found so far. - Added by Matt W on Jun 30, 2013 12:44 AM
