Yes, Nancy Caroline (Pitcock) Williams was a sister to my great-grandfather, John Pitcock. They were children of Lewis and Mary Pitcock. Where do you live? (I am in Lincoln Co.) If you want to email me, please feel free... firstname.lastname@example.org.

Elmwood Cemetery does have a record of the burial of William Charles "Dock" Pitcock, but it is listed with the last name "Pittcock". (It was recorded that way through an error by the funeral home at the time of his death and passed on to his death certificate and burial.) Dock was unmarried and had only a couple of surviving sisters, both residing in Madison Co.) at the time of his death. They were both up in age at that time, and they handled his funeral arrangements by telephone and weren't able to attend his service.
Are you related?

I asked at the cemetery if they had a record of this burial (for which you have a photo request), and they could not find one. I contacted the creator of the memorial, and he told me that the grave is unmarked.
Would you like to cancel this, or do you want a picture of the unmarked location uploaded as a grave photo?

I would be happy to go photograph the grave marker for you but do you have the info for the Section number and Plot number. without this info it would be almost impossible to find due to the size of the cemetery. If you don't have it you can call the cemetery office at 281-332-3111 and they will look it up for you. If you get the info please email me at KENNEDYL@RICE.EDU.

You are welcome! Glad I could help.
|Norman White||T A McElroy|
Went to Columbia Cemetery in Columbia Mississippi last week and could not find T. A. McElroy. Today went to Columbia Public Library Genealogical Department and looked at a list of headstones in this cemetery compiled in 1987. The list confirmed that there was a marker for T.L. McElroy, Thomas McElroy, and Alvin McElroy. on row 17.I am sure headstones were there because there was a note that Thomas McElroy's headstone had been repaired. The Headstones should have been between a J. L. Fortenberry and a Nan Jones Tolar. Went back to Cemetery and found Mr Fortenberry's and Mrs. Tolar's headstones with a space of about 30 yards between them without any markers.You might want to check with the city of Columbia as they are responsible for maintenance.Possible headstones could have been damaged by downed oak trees during Karitna? Sorry I could not be of more assistance. Norman D White
