|As a Wrentham, Massachusetts resident, I am concerned with preserving the information on gravestones everywhere. |
I participated in the mid 1990's in transcribing inscriptions from all gravestones in the Sheldonville Cemetery; the late Joe MacDougald photographed the stones. Unfortunately, the photos languished away in a shoe box until earlier this year. By the time a group of local folks starting reviewing the photos, we found that many had already been added to FAG. Now, we are comparing old and new photos to add the most legible one to the memorial. In all instances, we would like to have the complete inscription and the plot location shown on the memorial page.
My own family has roots in West Virginia, and I also contribute to cemeteries there.

I don't use this account very often (which is why it's taken so long to respond).
In the past, I helped a friend with his Graves' family research. This memorial was connected to that research; I just corrected it using my cemeteryhelper account.
Sorry for the confusion.

I also am looking for the parents of Mattie Lee Graves. Have you had any luck?
Thanks, Pat Pirtle Durda

I have been trying to update this cemetery as no one has before. I have numerous relatives buried there and live not far from Weldon. I came across the burial for Mattie and realized she did not have a memorial and I have added her parents to it.
BUT just out of curiosity I would really like to know how you came across this memorial since you live in Massachusetts and I have not been able to discern that you have any ties with this area. Find A Grave cam be a curious site.

Thanks for the heads up on this one... the fellow who had entered her originally is deceased - you can request a transfer from Find A Grave if you wish... I did enter the info to the picture I'd put up...
thanks for posting memorial photo for the Sheldon's
I have seen it spelled both ways through my research of the town, cemetery and those interred there. Thank you for your question.
