I have been working on my family genealogy since 1984. I have family in Ireland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Tennessee. I am new to FindAGrave and have just now started to enter known burials for my family members. Thanks to all of you who have contributed to the cause.

RE: Anna Schmidt Eichstaedt and Martin Eichstaedt
Hi Elaine,

We corresponded back in 2012 about our family. Glad to hear from you again! The info on Anna Schmidt Eichstaedt came from her birth and marriage records from the Catholic church of Preussisch Friedland (which is now in Poland). Martin's info came from his birth record, his funeral record and a transcription of his death record. I have a copy of these records in my possession. After decades of searching, I finally found the correct Friedland that my ancestor, Hulda Eichstaedt Pye, came from (there were 5 of them in Germany at the time she was born) and was able to fill in her family information from these records which have been microfilmed and are located in the Catholic Church archives for Preussisch Friedland in Pelplin, Poland.

Since I am living in Germany since 2013 and am married to a German husband who can read the old script, we have been able to find many records of my German ancestors.

I've sent this same message to your aol email with an attached family group sheet for this family which has all my sources. If you'd like a copy of any of the actual records, let me know, and I'll scan them and send them to you (and hope that they get through okay).

Thanks for writing, cousin!

All the best,
Catherine

RE: Willliam Lamkenmeyer Roegge #26225613
I had made the entry based on the cemetery's burial records. I agree with you, thinking his last name is Lamkenmeyer, not Roegge and changed the name accordingly. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

PS -- You can add a picture to any memorial, but courtesy would be to tell the manager of that memorial that you have added a photo. But, that is also not compulsory.

The process is that you cannot link Mathilda to her parents. You would need to have me do that. Protocol is to send a request to the person controlling the memorial to link the parents to her, including the ID number for each of the parents so the party controlling the memorial doesn't have to guess whether they have the right parents.

I have transferred your husband's grandparents and cousin to you. I am thrilled their family has found them. Yes, you can connect family together even if you do not maintain or "owning" their memorial. If you don't own the memorial and want the person link to their family member, just ask to owner using the Edit tab and they will do so for you. Welcome to Findagrave and good luck in your research. Davis family in Crestwood
Always happy to connect family members! I just transferred both of them to you. If all possible always try to include you Find A Grave acct number when asking for transfers. Less work for the people doing the transfers. :>)
Let me know if you need any other in Crestwood!
