Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family roots are deep into Eastern Kentucky and the border areas in Virginia and West Virginia. However, I grew as an "Army Brat" - always moving and with only distant connections to extended family members. After college, a short time in the Army (Germany & Vietnam) and graduate school the moving pattern continued. In my professional career I worked at different universities in the US and overseas. All of this may explain why both genealogy and history have been two of my hobbies over the years. Now that I'm retired I can spend more time on it. Cemeteries have always been fascinating because of the history. I've found Find A Grave a great resource and now want to contribute in a small way.

Workman's memorial
Hello,
You requested an image of Sherman's memorial but not of Josephine's. If you want images of hers as well please request a photo. Sometimes we have so many memorials to photograph that we don't remember to look around for similar names close to the memorial we're photographing. It helps us when it's on our list.
Thanks.
By the way, we will photograph on Wednesday, After all the Easter props have been removed from the cemetery. It'll make for a better images.

Karin

You submitted an edit to add her maiden name of Godbey. According to the West Virginia death records, she was 5 years old and died in a children's home, making it extremely unlikely she was married. I'm respectfully declining your edit. Thanks, LG

RE: headstone photos
You're very welcome! In the process of fulfilling requests, I also added the photos to the spouse's memorials & when there wasn't a memorial already created, I created one. However, I don't wish to manage the memorial so I would like to transfer them to the original requestor. If you would accept the transfers, were any of these your requests (Clyde Gallian, Hi Justice, Claud Leadmon, or Hattie Nelson)? Thanks.
