|Theresa Watson||RE: Ley, Robert 1926-2015|
I make corrections when I know the facts. I know some people don't think correctness is necessary. In my working career, I dealt with many names. I was a teacher for a few years. One of a cousin(?) has given me much angst re the Christmann name. She told me what is on the paper is correct - not so. My step-father - Harold NMI Ley - 1921-2000 - was the middle son to Gottlieb Ley and Rose/a Christmann. I have done a lot of searching on these people so I add comments. In the case of Rose Christmann, her father died in 1898 - the year Rose was born. Mother remarried a Ludwig Ketterline/Ketterling and the girls of Mathies Christmann and Dorothea Lautt were labled as Ketterline/Ketterling. If one looks at the census records, the Christmann name is correct. The cousin pretends to be a genealogist. I am a beginner; however, my step-dad adopted my brother and I in 1941 in Colorado - so I was there on the scene. Robert was a quiet soul - never had children. I learned recently Robert played the violin. To know their history - a surprise. My step-dad played the mandolin; the five/six brothers had their own dance band and every Saturday on the road to place for dances. The "Dutch Hop" - a favorite. I was a Butler in the beginning - a divorce happened and mother remarried. I do not try to be intrusive; however, I am very much into the thing of adding items that are as correct as possible. I am surprised when anyone picks up on info I have placed in Find a Grave or Ancestry. Another one of my cousins whose grandfather was Carl Hetterle -and a brother to my mother Alvina - wanted into on Uncle Carl. I hope this isn't too much info; I try to give a more complete picture of the person. A sentence or two does not make the person real even though the person is deceased. Robert's wife - Betty Buderus - is still alive as far as I know - living in Greeley, Colorado. TMWatson

Sorry that there was no stone for me to photograph for this gentleman. He is buried beside a man named Henry Hill "Hank" whose Find-A-Grave memorial number is 119400769. I was thinking that there must be some relationship between the two, but will leave that up to you to determine.

You're most welcome. I was delighted to be able to help. And I do want to give credit to the good people at the cemetery office who helped direct me to the right spot.
You are welcome! You have no idea how much I enjoy doing this! Have a great weekend. Eileen

Ok, a single photo of Juanita Winder has been added along with the double one showing her and Carl. Have a great evening.

Hi Shirley, some time back (I think it was around Jan) you had sent a photo request for Carl Winder Jr in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. I couldn't find the location and when I checked with the cemetery office they indicated the marker wasn't in place. Well, I followed up on that when we were out there today and it turns out I had been given incorrect location information. To make a long story short, I found his marker and took the photo. Carl Winder Jr has a double marker with his wife Juanita (Gleason) Winder. She isn't linked to him and she isn't listed in Find a Grave Sunset Memorial Gardens database. I took a separate photo of her date info and it shows her born in 1925 with a date of death of 2006 (4 years before Carl). When I ran her name through the general find-a-grave, a Juanita Winder showed up married to a Donald Winder but the dates of birth and death are different and their graves are in Oklahoma. Do you think she just got overlooked at Sunset Memorial Gardens?

Absolutely do call them. I was on site and talked to one of the staff. She looked it up and didn't see either in the records for the burial. If you find that they are, get the garden name to go with the plot number you had. You might also want to ask if they show as having a marker. I'll go back out to get the photo for you.

I know what you mean on the ever changing dates. My heritage is Czech and German and the dates and name spellings can be challenging. Sometimes I wonder if the person taking the information was the problem or if my relatives were the problem. LOL

Great to hear Shirley. Anytime I can be of assistance I will gladly help. You have a great weekend as well.

He's definitely not buried at Sunset according to them. I thought there might be two separate Theodore's at first until they were both married to the same woman. He's buried in Block 56, Lot 84, Space B-4 in Crown Hill.
