Bio and Links
Bio Photo Find-a-Grave is both a memorial site and a reference tool for families exploring their genealogy. After initially adding my extended family members, I became interested in helping others locate their relatives as well.

In adding memorials I research family connections and add links if appropriate. My photos include not only close ups of the marker but also a longer view in order to provide a perspective on where the grave is located in relation to the surroundings. Often times markers are situated on extended family plots which may include multiple generations and different surnames.

My family genealogy includes the primary surnames of Bomsin, Hornke, Knaak, Reinel, Schlagenhauf, Sonnenberg, Steinert and Zemke. Most are buried in Wisconsin but also in Michigan, Nebraska, Texas, California and Oregon. My thanks go to other contributors who have added memorials and photos of my family members buried in locations I may not be able to visit.

You have my permission to use any of the grave photos I have added. As I am the custodian of many photos on my own nuclear and extended family memorials, I ask that you acknowledge the source if you use them.

RE: 181986466
Hi Judy,
Thanks for the quick reply! I too have been studying those directories as I try to parse the Nachtman family. It seems every generation has a duplication of names which makes things super sticky. I've actually had to go so far as checking the addresses in the directories and studying ALL of the Nachtman's so I can get my ancestors recorded properly.

Take a peek at the 1926 directory. (I have a screenshot if you'd like for me to send it to your email. My email is accessible from my profile page.) Herman and Frieda lived at h107 Eveline. Herman Nachtman jr lived at r1028 6th. His widowed mother, Magdalena, also lived at r1028 6th. The family at r1028 6th is in my (hubby's) direct line; Magdalena was 2nd great grandmother.

I have a hunch that the directory company began to stick "Jr" after my Herman's name in the directly merely because he was the younger of the two Hermans. My family does not know him as a Jr. His father's name was Johan (changed to John) so I don't think he actually was a Jr. The surviving family related to Nachtman is not able to confirm that he was married before Gertrude, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't.

Any other info you might have to help me prove or disprove would be great. Do you have Nachtman in your tree? I will take a look into Marion and see if I can find a path with her Grandparents. I think it's possible Marion's dad Herman is a different Nachtman family.

Thanks again so much,

Jennifer

Hello,
I'm wondering if you have info or source documents that offer information relating to the first marriage to Herman Nachtman. Would be appreciate of anything you might be able to share.

Thank you!

My cousin has told me that this may not be our family Archie Benner. Do you have access to the death records? The Archie Floyd Benner in our family was a son of Ralph C Benner and Sadie Catherine Sherwood (married a Bagley after a divorce from Ralph). I had already added the family members to this memorial before my cousin said he thought I had the wrong person. Our family member was Archie Floyd Benner. Thank you for checking for me! Carmen

Brueske family obits
Thank you for posting obits for William, Anna and Fred Brueske. Anna's grandson had not seen them before. Can I upload them to my online tree? If so, how would you like to be id'd as the source? Thanks.
