Both my father, and grandfather, were long time members of the board of directors of the Richland Cemetery, Johnstown, PA. Now I have joined the board to continue in this service. Part of my grandfathers farm became part of the cemetery, and now our future graves are located on land that we once played on in the orchard of the family farm. One of my first teenage jobs was mowing grass in the Richland Cemetery, and I have countless relatives buried there including both sets of grand parents, my parents, three brothers, and many uncles and aunts. Thus I have a long interest in keeping this cemetery in great shape physically as well as financially. Looking forward to serving and helping in any way I can.|

I submitted an edit for my mom's memorial regarding her last name and her nickname. Her last name was never Miller, it was Close, which is also my maiden name. We listed John Miller as her father in the obit because he and my gram have been together for years but he was in fact her stepdad. Could you please change her last name from Miller to Close and remove "Close" under her nickname.
Thank you for your assistance,

I just wanted to give you a heads-up that I added a memorial for Amanda Bennett since her mother was a Rummell which is a line that I actively research.
Hope all is well!

I just wanted to give you a heads-up. I always leave burials at Richland for you, but Roy is a distant cousin so I added his already. His mother was a Dishong so he fits in my family.
Hope all is well!

No worries Roger. We all have an accidental duplicate here and there. Thank you for all that you do in our area to celebrate these lives!

I work at the Richland Cemetery in Johnstown, PA and we input all our burials into Find-A-Grave. When we do this, I can add the obit info as well as the grave location for each entry. When you do one as you did for Linda, all it has is the birth and death date info. Unless its a family member would you leave those interred at Richland for us to place on Find-A-Grave. Thank you.

Please read the Find A Grave Facts.
Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
Please do NOT add newspaper article or obituary scans. The photo section is reserved for headstone/grave photos and possibly a portrait photo of the person, if that photo is owned by you. Do not copy and post photographs from obituary or funeral home websites (unless you personally are the photographer), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright. Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.
If Find A Grave expressly contracted you to input memorials for Richland Cemetery only, I haven't received notice that other contributors are banned from doing so. I'll be contacting Find A Grave and forward this message to get clarification. I try my hardest to follow the guide lines they set in place.
I do understand that this cemetery has family sentimental remembrances for you but, I have numerous family and friends laid to rest there also. I feel I have just as much right to contribute to Richland Cemetery as you do.
Hi Mr. Luther, My grandparents were Clifford and Katherine McDowell Holsinger. Clifford was the caretaker of Richland Cemetery for over 50 years. They lived in the former caretaker's home at 220 Luther Road located at the present entrance to Richland Cemetery. Was that home part of the Luther family farm? I remember the orchard behind the house as you spoke of in your bio.

Hello Mr Luther,
I bet Luther Road is named for your family. I was wondering if I could take over my Great Aunt Eliza's memorial page? I'm taking over my Hancock Great Uncle's pages and I would like to do so for my Great Aunt Eliza who I looked up to so much.
Our Hancock line has a proud lineage back to England and we were Quakers from the beginning. I'm also from the Blackburn line of Bedford County.
Thank you for creating her memorial page.
Her husband Clyde was killed in a terrible accident in the steel mill when a blast furnace door frame fell on him
|Donna Rae "Mitchell" Grimes||Gladys Weaver McGregor|
Thank~you for adding Miss Gladys to her family.
|Brian J. Ensley||Alice Hoy|
Hope all is well. I let all of the Richland burials for you, but I wanted to give you a heads-up that I did create one for Alice Hoy who died last month. She was a co-worker of mine when I worked at Lee Hospital.
