RE: Mays
Albert C. Mays married Elizabeth A Jones in Prentiss County in 1883. He was born in Al. His father was also Albert Mays, born 1805 in Virginia.
His sister, Rilla married WFC Wesson and seemed to have stayed in the area, while AC moved to Texas. I know albert was in Franklin Co, AL in1840 and in Tishomingo in 1870. Thank you for your offer. It is appreciated.

I wanted to thank you for your work. I just discovered that I was following a false trail with the information I found on one of your Find a Grave sites. However I am researching the Mays family in Prentiss County. My grandfather was Albert Clifton Mays, born 1861 in Prentiss. Any connection with your family?

RE: Susan Osterstock
In the 1970s, all the headstones were removed from this cemetery and replaced with sign boards listing the names and birth and death dates of the the people buried in Dryland Reformed Cemetery. The photo is an image cropped from a photo of a portion of the the sign board listing the Osterstocks listed on the the board and buried in the cemetery and serves as their headstone. They may or may not be related.

RE: Amy Ward Vernon King

I don't see a Samuel in Rhode Island for those years. Quite a few Samuel King's though.

What are the years for your Samuel. The child Samuel doesn't belong to Amy. There is a stone which says " In memory of Mary and Samuel daughter and son of Mathias and Mary King.

The child Samuel 1739 was linked to Amy as spouse, so I unlinked that. According to the RIHCC records which I used, there isn't a Samuel King buried in that cemetery that would fit as her husband.

RE: Martha Ann Mays Stanley
Photo of Martha Mays Stanley is uploaded with permission from a collection of papers and photos belonging to Mary Ellis Shackelford Stanley now in the possession of her granddaughter. Most all of the Stanley family portrait photos placed on Find A Grave by me came from that same collection with permission. MS

Yes it was a difficult one. I have run across several like that in my 30+ years of research, but I love the "hunt" and the mystery, so it works for me. I had ancestors who changed their last name completely when the immigrated from Germany in the late 1700's....that was a challenge for sure.
Keep hunting and digging....and thanks for your help with this one.
