Hi Jay,

You requested the photo for Mary Riggs.

Emma Walling made an attempt to find this grave back on June 26, 2016. She searched the entire cemetery and no gravestone was found. -- noted on the Photo Request.

Hope this helps.

Keep diggin'

RE: Elzabeth Patrick
You're welcome. No, I didn't see anyone near her named Patrick. I generally look around to see if husband or kids are nearby but I saw nothing.

HEADSTONE PHOTO ISABELLA RESIDE, HOLYTOWN CEMETERY, LANARKSHIRE, SCOTLAND

Hi there

A couple of weeks back you had a photo request for Marion Mitchell Reside in Mearns Parish Churchyard. We managed to fulfil that for you.

Yesterday we were at Holytown Cemetery in Lanarkshire fulfilling requests - came across an Isabella Reside (died 1935), married to a William Weir. Other family also listed including a son - whose middle name is Raeside, rather than Reside.

If the photo is of interest happy to send it on. My email is izzycuthbert@yahoo.co.uk if you wanted to contact me.

Izzy

PS Can't remember if I mailed you to say that we came across a few 'Raeside' stones when we visited Mearns Cemetery, just a mile away from Mearns Churchyard where Marion Reside stone is. Again, happy to send these on if they are of use.

You are so welcome (and we totally agree with taking good quality, area photos in addition to close-ups)

RE: Mount Royal Cemetery photo request
You're welcome.

No registration or account is necessary.
I don't often use the search box. Most of the time I'm looking for an obit or death notice. I just go to the issue the day after the date of death, check the index (usually on page 1)for the Birth/Deaths and then go to that page.
When I do try the search, I use the person's name and died, and then just the name. Most of the time you get too many results.
One thing I have noticed is that sometimes page images are repeated, so if you are looking for page 15 it may show up on image 17. Also sometimes several publication dates are lumped together, so you may see 150 images that are actually two or three different dates. So if you see blank dates that are marked No editions available, check the last available edition.

I hope this info is helpful.

RE: Jame and Bertha Sanders
Hello Jay

The stone is not unusual at all. It lies underneath a tree which casts a broken shadow over the stone. In order to eleminate the problem, I use a sun shield to make the light consistent for photographing. Then, using some photo enhancing programs, I add light and color saturation , in order to make the lettering stand out. The actual original color was black, but with time, it has turned a king of gray. If you would like to have it look like what I actually saw, let me know, and I will post it.

Several years ago my father and I along with Dwight Catlin and Orly Bryant, went down to a creek by the Aud farm and tried to find as many of the Catlin cemetery stones as we could. The site of the Catlin cemetery had been cleared with a front end loader and the stones dumped by a creek. I took photos of the stones that we found. Send me your email and I will send you files of them.
The stones are now in the Herald Cemetery White County, IL. People at the Catlin Reunion had them placed there and a marker was installed with all the names that we knew were buried at the Catlin cemetery.

RE: Abbie Taylor
You are so very welcome. It was a pleasure.

I should have mentioned that the city cemetery list of burials mentions that Joseph B, and Lester L are buried in the same location as Abbie, so I assume that they are there but don't have grave markers.

Jay, I attempted to fulfill your photo request for this person but as you see there are some differences, but also many similarities.

I posted the photo but wanted to let you know that the stone I found is for Abbriel instead of Abigail.

The dates on the stone are: Born Aug 27, 1846 and Died Jan 4, 1903. Again very similar but different from what is on the memorial.

Please feel free to delete the photos if you feel they are the wrong ones.
