Jonathan Reeves
Joyner family
Hi,
I see you are related to a lot of Joyners from NC/SC. I'm descended from Frederick Joyner from Camden/Lancaster Districts. He is related somehow to Nehemiah Jr. who came from North Carolina. Would love to discuss. My email is jer0007@tigermail.auburn.edu.

I have information on Frederick's descendants available here: http://reeveshome.org/genealogy/page.php?id=barrett

I see the Date of Death you have posted is January 18, 1954.

The Death Certificate shows January 8, 1954 as does the headstone.

If I am in error, please let me know.

RE: Cornelius McCoulskey
I found some info on the Neil in Alabama. His wife's maiden name seems to be Pelt not Polk. In 1838 a Henry Pelt made a will mentioning his daughter Rebecca Johnson and husband Robert Johnson. A Rebecca Pelt married Robert Johnson 3 April 1829 in Clarke County, AL. It also mentions a Neil McCoulsky, husband of Nancy Pelt who was deceased at the time the will was made in 1838. That coincides with the 1840 census of Neil being all alone. The children may have gone to Rebecca and her husband.

RE: Cornelius McCoulskey
Is your James McColsky who died Nov. 1961? There are probate papers are in Marion County, MS on a James McColsky who died 10 Nov. 1861. His widow Mary Jane filed the papers listing his heirs as Needham, George W, Susan Pittman and Mary Jane Luper. There's no mention of a Daniel. These were his brothers and sisters. He must not have been married long. becaus there is a James listed on the 1860 census with his parents, Neil and Beady (Obedience). Needham married Charlotte Polk, then after he died in the Civil War, she married Israel E. Polk (go figure) in 1866.
I'll see what I can find on the Alabama Neil.

Cornelius McCoulskey
I do not believe the Neil McCoulskey in Alabama is the same Neil McColsky who was in Mississippi married to Obedience. The 1830 & 1840 census in Alabama and the 1830 & 1840 census in Mississippi clearly show a Neil McColsky in each. The Neil McCoulsky in Alabama married Nancy Polk 18 June 1820 in Clarke County, Al. The Neil McColsky in MS married Obedience in 28 Dec. 1829. I believe Daniel McCoulsky was the son of the Neil from Alabama, not MS.

Daniel McCoulskey
Yes, I do believe Daniel is the son of Cornelius and Obedience McCoulskey. However I do not link to "Unknown" burials as they are against Find A Grave rules except for very recent deaths. I did though put the info in Daniel's bio. Thanks.

Col. Tyler & Ruth were wonderful people. They corresponded with my grandparents in Memphis over a period of years. The Col.'s research into his mother's family was appreciated by many. Bes wishes, Ann (AGP)

Thank you for trying to find a marker for Nancy. I added a note to her page so researchers in the future will know the status.
