RE: How to contact member friend
Hi Cynthia,

Since you are closely related, you should ask Rita to transfer the memorial to you. I bet she will.

It is very unlikely that Rita knows Robert. (But you can ask her of course... there is always a chance, no matter how slight).

Rita has thousands upon thousands of memorials that she has mass-uploaded from cemetery records and other sources. She doesn't know the people, she just uploaded the burial information. Same with me, I have thousands of memorials (not nearly as many as Rita though!), and I only know about 100 or maybe 200 of them. All the others were just uploaded from cemetery burial records, or added from info in an obituary.

Usually if a person is related to someone, they will leave a flower on the memorial's page indicating their relationship. Or, if related or a friend, we will "sponsor" the memorial (pay $5 to "sponsor" it and it increases the number of photos you can upload to it)

Good luck!

RE: How to contact member friend
Hi Again,

I looked up Robert and found his birth date, and mother & father's names, so I sent that info to Rita in an edit for her to update Robert's memorial.

Charles E Terpening
Myrtle M Lanham Terpening

Birth Date: 2 Mar 1922
Birth County: Santa Barbara, CA

If Robert is a relative of yours, you should ask Rita if she would transfer his memorial for you to love and care for. :)

Just tell Rita what your relationship is to him, especially if it is not an immediate relative, you may have to explain it. Some managers follow the Find A Grave transfer rules to the letter and others are more flexible. Just explain it to her if you are related, or a dear friend, or whatever.

RE: How to contact member friend
Hi Cynthia,

It is always a little difficult to reach a member when they have their messages disabled. But, you can always go to one of their memorials and click the little EDIT tab in the upper right hand corner of the memorial and it will take you to a list of different kinds of edits you can send to a manager of a memorial.

Here are the choices you will see:

Suggest a correction or an addition:
Birth/death date, birth/death place
Relationship (parent and spouse links)
Plot or GPS
Marker transcription
Suggest any other correction or addition

The last choice in the list "Suggest any other correction or addition" allows you to actually type in a message to the manager. This message goes directly to their private email and they will generally respond to you on YOUR message board. If you want them to respond to your personal email address, I suggest that you include your email address in the message you send them.

Try clicking here to get to Robertís edit page

If it gets you there, then just type a message to Rita (include your email address) and it will go to her private email and she will respond to you.

If you need more help, let me know.

RE: response to your comment
If I transfer the memorial to you it means that it is yours to change, etc. and care for. Since this person is a relative of yours I thought you might like to be the 'owner' of the memorial. Let me know if you would like me to do this.
