Bio Photo I am a museum curator for the Detroit Children's Museum. I love the scavenger hunt that is genealogy. If there is a request for the Royal Oak cemetery I will do my best to fulfill it. If I don't have to contact the office I fulfill that request sooner. But I will do my best to get the best high quality picture I can get!

RE: The Blackstocks
Hello Don- your photos are very good. You are doing great work. Sometimes there are no markers. Yes- my ancestor Dr.George V.McNeill is buried in the same cemetery. There has been discussion in the past but I did reconfirm his burial location. There may not be a memorial stone for him but I would think so!

RE: Bogart's In Fine, NY
By the way, the reason it wouldn't let you request a photo is because you already made a request for the photo for Urias back in 2013 and its still open. You also were the one who created the memorial and stated you didn't know if he was buried there. I can tell you that in prior inventories, he was never shown, so I really don't think he is buried there. It would be best to remove the memorial as Find-a-grave is not for guesses. It is to be used as a genealogy reference database of known/confirmed burial location information. Guesses and the proliferation are, per the site creator and the main curator, degrading the site integrity. As it is, right now, anyone searching for the burial location on sites like Ancestry will get a notice that he is buried in Woodland....and the guess (which is likely incorrect) will be considered as a proven fact and his true burial location may be lost in the assumption.

RE: Bogart's In Fine, NY
I live in Colorado and when I do get to visit St. Lawrence county I focus my time on doing 100% photo inventories of cemeteries instead of filling requests. I think its much more efficient that way and much more helpful to preserving the rapidly deteriorating cemeteries. Most of the cemeteries in Fine have been indexed (overall, I have done 176 cemeteries in the county, and others have done another couple dozen). Not all are on find-a-grave however. If you go to my webpage (link on my find-a-grave member page), there are a couple more Fine cemeteries listed that others have inventoried. I am only hosting those inventories and did not take the photos, so I can not post them to find-a-grave. On my website you will also find links to the old newspaper sites for St. Lawrence county. All the papers back to the 1850's are scanned, indexed and fully searchable. It may have you find the information you are missing.
