Bio and Links
Bio Photo Recently, the oldest living relative, our 99 year old Grandmother, passed away just shy of her 100th Birthday. She was a text book of information.

I am currently researching the following: Eckstein, Beighey, Bagley, Deem, Eck, Adkins, Nease, Wright, Sinclair, Allmon, Seevers & Cheek.

Please feel free to use any photo's or documents I have shared. We all have the same goal. Good luck!

Should I become incapacitated, or no longer able to maintain my memorials, my assigned steward is my sister, Myra, Contributor #47941544.

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says. "Grieve not for me."

Remember the best times, the laughter, the song,
the good life I lived while I was strong.

Continue my heritage. I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease. My soul is at rest. Rememnbering all, how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life. Don't worry about falls.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin,
until the day comes we're togeher again.

Your Tombstone

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Claire Hughes
Hi Carrie,

I was wondering how you came across Claire Hughes's name? I didn't see any name I recognized in the families you are researching.

I am a Hughes. John Hughes would have been my grandfather. Donald Hughes was my dad. That would have made Claire my aunt. Just curious. I am new to, so I thank you for taking the time to read this.

My email address is:

God Bless,
Karen (Susie) Hughes McCormack

I now have obit for Della Deem Martin, mother of one of John's wives. Della died in 1935 and Mrs. John Leisure pre-deceased Della.

Clayburn Adkins
Thanks for catching the duplicate. I deleted the one listing the Adkins cemetery since I can't recall who gave me that information. I made note to it on the other memorial and have sent a message to someone in the area who may have more information on the location. If I get that information, I will update the burial location. It's possible, like my great grandfather who was buried at home, it meant the cemetery on his property, a Lucas cemetery.
