Bio and Links
I prefer not to have death certificates on my memorials, I feel it's not an appropriate way to remember someone. If you have information from the certificate you would like added to the memorial, please let me know and I'll gladly add it to the bio section.

If you see any of my memorials that you would like deleted, corrected, or simply transferred KINDLY ask.

You may use any of my photos as you wish. I take them to benefit others, not myself.

Why do I do this? Well, there are several reasons.

1. Headstones are NOT always permanent. Lake of the Ozarks had to flood 7 cemeteries to exist (go ahead, Google it). Vandals damage and steal headstones all the time. Headstones get weathered and eventually become difficult to read. You get the point.

2. It helps those doing genealogy research. This is how I found FAG. Someone was kind enough to do a lot of the leg work for me and I just happened to stumble upon it. THANK YOU!

3. I've received many many "Thank you's" for posting a photo to a memorial. They are usually not in the area or have become incapable of visiting their loved ones gravesite. Being able to view it whenever they want helps them cope with their loss.

When I post a photo I will always try to post the location of the headstone. This allows others to more easily locate them should they need it for future reference.

No, sorry I am not related. I went to that remote cemetery to research my Rittimann relatives and ended up adding memorials for all.

First let me thank you for your very professional
photos of both Jack & Helen's grave markers Then
thank you for your volunteer time & work for
Find A Grave. I grew up with Jack in Fort Smith and the
University of Arkansas as we went on our paths
in different directions . I went to work for the
Texas Highway Department building Freeways and
bridges. Several years later we meet on the job. Jack had gone to work for a powder Company, Atlas
as I remember, and as a salesman he would be
responsible for supervising the loading of power
and its detonation. This was a most unusual job
as he could see in his mind , what the shot was
going to look like before it happened . He was
an artist in all the things he could do with
powder and make heavy construction excavation
efficient and cost effective. Most of this work
took place in downtown Fort Worth without damage
to any of the surrounding structures. This was
in the'50's & '60's before he moved to Houston
Jack was a very special person and again I thank
you for your photos.------joseph irwin

Hi Dee, thank you so very much for taking the time to photograph his grave. It means a great deal to me and my family that we can begin to understand where we came from (biologically-speaking) and every piece of the puzzle gets us that much closer. Thanks again!

RE: Re Memorial Oaks Cemetery
Actually, that seems to me normal behavior for cemeteries. Only twice have I been able to get detailed info by phone. Usually I've had to either write using snail mail or visit.

Re Memorial Oaks Cemetery
Hi Dee,
Thanks for telling me that mu cousin, Sara Bossung can't be found without knowing where she is. I appreciate the problem.

I called this morning and they told me they can't do that by telephone, that I need to come in person. (They have to go into a vault to get at those records.) My son lives in Austin. I'll see if I can get him to get over there to do that for me.

I was told that they're open daily, and by 9AM he should have no problem. I'll ask him to go ahead and get the photo too. If he agrees, I'll cancel the photo request.

Thanks again,
- Dorsey
