My name is Heather (Lindquist) Gerquest, and my husband is Christian. I have been researching my family tree for a while now and have found the LDS Church Family Research Center to be extremely helpful! In Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, my mother's family history has been fairly easy to locate. However, my father's side kind of gets lost once they leave the New York and Massachusetts area and overseas to Scotland (NORRIE & PHILIP) and Sweden (LINDQVIST). His maternal side has some family members that I've found in Scotland (Aberdeeneshire south of the city). His paternal side leaves NY state and disappears in Sweden somewhere. The other half stays in NY (Mid) and surrounding areas for a long time. Some of the old names there are WELLSEY or WILTSIE, ANSON & DAWSON, I don't know where they sailed from or anything. My husband and I now reside in Camden, Maine. |
The surnames I am linked to in this area of Maine(and of wider Knox, Waldo & Lincoln Counties) are BERRY (William Berry offspring and another separate Berry family), RICHARDS (William Berry descendent), WALTZ, DEMMONS, THOMAS, MCINTIRE, WALLACE, LINNELL (MA), GRANT. (Washington County, Maine). We spend a lot of time in Waldoboro area (Lincoln Co.)researching cemetery information and family tree information for the following families: CREAMER, WALTZ, CUNNINGHAM, MILLER, CUSHMAN, GENTHNER, OVERLOCK, KEEN and related families. Another area of interest is around Phippsburg, surnames WALLACE, MCINTIRE, BLETHEN, WALLIS. Washington County interests are DEMMONS, NICKERSON & GRANT. We travel to assorted cemeteries around the state. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and we are willing to assist as well!

Thank you for looking for Capt. John Heal's grave stone. It's old, dated 1833 so I hope it's not one of the missing. His wife was Marcy (Dunton) Heal born abt 1781, but I don't know when she died or where she's buried. Good luck!

His parents were Charles Foster Harris and Ellen Dykes.

According to Moms DNA there is no indian blood in her family lines....There is some Asian descent but no American indian....I am planning to test her sisters DNA and see if it comes back the same. Frances Luella was a Craig until she married Thomas Henderson. Frances shares the same Mother with my Great Grandfather but different Dads. Only 3 of Ollies children share the same Dad. The rest have different fathers.

My Mom did the dna test no indian blood in her lines ....It would have to be on your Henderson or Craige lines...as Frances Luella was a half sister to my Great Grandfather Chester Nevada "Mose" they shared a Mother Ollie Godwin

I created that memorial for my ancestor at the request of another family member in order to tie the entire family together on this site as it is such a good tool for genealogy information. I apologize sincerely for any inconvenience. Per my family records, his gravesite has not ever been found. I will investigate this matter and if I have to, will remove his page. It was never my intention to upset anyone or to break the rules. I hope you have a wonderful day.
