Hi Sharon ~
Heading to Norway and attempting to track the family lineage in Norway of Lawrence Grindberg.
He was father to Marie Dougherty who has a memorial notice posted on this site. I've scoured many records, and am having no luck.
Can you help? I'm hunting for the Norwegian grandparents of Marie Dougherty (maiden name Grindberg).

Thank you for the message. The reason for the 1821 date is because the dates are sporadic for each census and document that he is mentioned in. The dates range between 1820-1830 (not anything earlier) and his Civil War Registration shows his birth date as 1825. His immigrant arrival records show 1820. So with that confusion, I took the date for the 1900 census which shows the month/year for his birth. What I can do is add a note to his memorial explaining the discrepancy. By the way, we are cousins. I am also related to John through marriage...his son married into my McMenimen/Walsh family. If you would like to put together a bio or have any other information that you would like to add, don't hesitate to send it to me. I would be happy to add it in there. My personal email is email@example.com if you would like to contact me that way. Best regards, Jamie

I added the links. Not sure what was going on at your end, unless you got logged off the site or something? Anyway, he's linked to his parents now.

Thank you, Sharon. Phil was my aunt and godmother, and I have been meaning to post more photos and info. Your e-mail gave me the impetus. I have posted her HS graduation picture as well as the newspaper clipping of her obituary. You are welcome to add your transcript to the memorial if you still feel it necessary. Thanks so much for remembering Phil.
