|Terri Koch||Thomas Jasper Jones|
I recently seen where you posted you are related to Thomas Jasper Jones ? My great grandmother ( Minite Jones ), was Thomas Jasper Jones daughter. She married John Ledford b. 1875 Harlan, Ky. on April 8, 1898. They lived in Lower Martins Fork, Harlan, Ky. They had my Mamaw,Pearlie Mae Ledford` Farmer, Martha Ledford ` Farley, Shelby Ledford, Henry Ledford, Willie Ledford & Lydia Ledford`s Collins. John`s mother, Mary " Polly " Farley` Ledford,( also known as Pop ) lived with them. Re; 1900 & 1910 census`s. Many have confused Mintie Jones as Mintie Moren, however, Grandma Mintie actually died when my Mamaw was only 11 yr. old, in 1910, of T.B. Whereas Mintie Moren didn`t die until much much later. John ran off ( he never was one to be at home very often ) leaving all the children at home alone. Mamaw & Aunt Martha buried their mother in the side yard in Martins Fork from what Mamaw told us before passing on. All the children were passed out to neighbors / friends, except Lydia. Lydia came back to Harlan in the 1950`s & found Mamaw, Aunt Martha & Shelby. She said she`d been adopted to an Albert & Catherine Pratt in Macomb Co., Michigan. They were never able to find any of the other siblings. If you have any further information or if I can be of any help to you, please contact me at Shortymaek@aol.com
