RE: thank you Stacie
You're Welcome! I'm really glad I could help you out. That place was huge! At least 40K in burials and still going. When you get the chance I would definitely call them back. Hopefully they have a database by now. I have a feeling that at least one if not all are there since families tended to stay close together. I just wish the weather would have cooperated so I could have walked around some more!

RE: Vandenberg's Burial info in St. Mary's
Success!!! I just finished posting the photos. I was lucky and found them quickly. They're located in the front stretch of the section, next to the road and in front of the Casper headstone. I didn't see any other Vandenberg's in the immediate area but I only got to walk around for about 20 mins or so because it started to rain. Got there just in the nick of time! If you can confirm any of the kids are there, I have no problem going back.

Vandenberg's Burial info in St. Mary's
Thanks for the info. I'll look into Minnesota but I'm now pretty sure they came from NY based on where all of the children were born except for the last who was born in Joliet, IL I had to go back and review my records too lol. I'm also going to keep those surnames you sent me in my notes. May come in handy. I do know tho that my 3rd GG's maiden name was Hardy.
I've got a question about the plot info you listed on your photo request in St. Mary's - I may be able to get over there this weekend. It says Sect 1 but the Sects on their map are all letters. Should that be Sect I instead? (I found a pic of the map in the photo sect of the cemetery page if you want to look at it.) Let me know. Thanks! Stacey

RE: thx Stacey
Not sure but it's always possible. My 3rd Grt Grandfather, James Shaw, was born in Ogdensburg, NY. Prior to his arrival in Illinois in 1850, I don't know much except that during his early life he seemed to go back and forth between NY and Brockville, Canada. He married my grandmother in Canada in 1834 and some of my 2nd Grt Grandfather's older bros were born there. My 4th GG's name is Joseph who I believe was a Wagonmaster - Wife's name is unknown. And that's pretty much it. I'm at a standstill right now. I think I'm going to have to hire someone in the Brockville area to do some research for me. I'm also still tring to figure out at what point he learned to make bricks. I think he must have known before he came to the area in 1850 even though he listed himself as a Farmer on the census. By 1860 he had a successful brick company in Joliet, Illinois which he started sometime in the mid 1850's.

RE: Harm VanderbergVandenberg
Hi Gary - OMG that's awful! I hope her mother gets better! I should be able to get back over to Oakridge within the next week to get a photo. I found where lot 460 was so I know I'm in the right area. I'll also try and get over to St. Mary's. That's about 40 miles from my house. Not sure when but I'll make time soon. I always enjoy the hunt when looking for someone. Talk to you soon! Stacey

I'm sorry, I haven't been able to locate his marker during the last two trips I've been out there. I'm pretty sure I found the right area and I think his grave may be unmarked but I still plan to look once more this coming weekend. No luck with his wife's marker either. Again, sorry. Regards, Stacey

Charles Ogden
Hi, just found the message you had sent me some time back and I see you put in a request from his page. His parents are already listed, so I linked them to Charles, but maybe you should remove your request for Charles, and put one in for each of his parents? I might try to get up there this summer, but not sure.

RE: headstone shot request
Hi, I don't know that I'll be going back, so just to be sure, why don't you got to Charles's page and do a photo request, stating what you'd like done.
