My research for the Remembrance Rug often brings me across additional info - which I like to provide so that these records may be more complete and others will not need to duplicate that research.|
There is a video one of my cousins made in 2011 when it was somewhat shorter than now:
Here is a link to the State of Oregon VA list of 2017 Memorial Events: http://oregondva.com/2017memorialday/#eventslist
The RRug exhibit is listed under Portland.
Note in general:
When a person died while on active duty I do not consider myself in a position to deny them their hard earned rank and so I endeavor to include it in the field provided by Find-A-Grave for it. The list was expanded about a year ago so I know many of the appropriate abbreviations did not exist at the time many pages were originally established.
For those who had completed their service and hung up their uniforms (veterans) - whether or not to address them by the rank they once held - should be left to the family.
When I cannot locate a page here for all of the people killed in a group event - I try to include the names of all who died together so that whenever new pages are added for them it will be easy for them to find that part of the history for their bio.
Lastly, I try to use the comment section for current and "open items" only.

I found an obit which did confirm his name as David
and his birth/death dates, but i did request a
photo of his marker just to be sure.

I am unable to confirm the birth and death location as Germany. Why would they bury this child in California? Please forgive me if you are a family member, but it is difficult to know...

Frank Slowik does not have a headstone. The date listed is the burial date, which is the only date I have.
