After I took an early retirement in 2009, I returned to my genealogy research that I began in 1979. Most of my immediate ancestors are buried in Grant County, Arkansas. Almost all of my Mother's side of the family are buried in Orion Cemetery, founded in 1860, located in north Grant County. Over the years, family members have volunteered in the maintenance of the books that list the graves in Orion Cemetery. Being familiar with spreadsheets, I knew that we could manage the 2000 gravesites with a spreadsheet showing grave locations along with the names and dates on the gravestones. I found that two of my family members had the same idea of using a spreadsheet. The three of us worked together to create the Orion Cemetery Book printed in 2011. The book was purchased and then used to populate Find a Grave. In 2009, I was elected by the Orion Cemetery Association to be the Historian.

Thank you for posting this picture of my Grandfather's headstone. I am just beginning to piece some history together from this part of my family. I knew Papa Lee very well and his siblings. But I don't know a lot of details for earlier generations. I will try to update and link as I have solid information!

Davis Memorials at Orion Cemetery
I have sent transfer requests for my Davis family buried in Orion Cemtery in edits on their memorials. My gg grandfather, William Raford Jarrett, is buried in Orion. Metta, daughter, and her husband Andrew Jackson Davis are buried in Orion, as well as William Raford's grandson, Charles J. and wife, Mabel M. Davis. I would really appreciate transfers. I have done much work on this family, and have numerous links to make and photos to add. My grandmother used to visit the Davis and Hand aunts, uncles, and family in Arkansas.

I am also requesting the Page and Hand family buried there in Orion. They are nieces and nephews of William Raford Jarrett. I hope that P.V. Hays will appreciate the relationship and make transfers as well. She quotes the Find A Grave policy of 4 generation direct line, however I think that any family member is better than a stranger managing a memorial. I notice that she has transferred memorials to you :) I have had numerous folks on findagrave make cousin transfers. I always transfer to anyone that is more closely related than I am. That's only happened once :)

Thank you so very, very much!
