RE: I've been absent....
Great to hear from you, Kate - I am getting back into full swing doing the Old Jonesborough restoration. Have found out some really cool stuff up there this winter. Maybe one day we could meet for coffee, then run up to that cemetery - I can show you around, and we can talk "graveyards". Looking forward to hearing from you. Gordon

Peter Click
there is no marker for Peter Click. I have already examined the cemetery. His birth/death dates are taken from the Cherokee Baptist church records as he and his wife were members.

RE: Saying hello
I would love to meet, perhaps for coffee, since you're an "AM Person" LOL - just in case it might work for you, we are having a cleanup day at JBO Cemetery on Sept 15th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm - nothing very complicated - if you're available that morning, perhaps we could meet for coffee beforehand. Just let me know if that, or some other time would work for you. Many thanks, G

RE: Saying hello
Kate, noticed you deselected Thomas Telford at Salem - I went ahead and got him, plus a few others in the Telford family - Are you familiar with the transcription data for Washington County cemeteries? Salem Cemetery is fairly easy to sort through - much easier than walking row by row. This was one of those hints I was referring to. I don't want to sound like I know it all, because I sure don't, but if I can make hunting easier for you, I'd love to assist. I really, really welcome your help with these requests - I have run ragged trying to clean up Washington & Unicoi Counties. Gordon

RE: Saying hello
Oh, didn't realize you've done this before. I guess you're well aware of Betty Hylton's work, then. I have been in well over 100 cemeteries, between Wash & Unicoi - been taken to obscure cemeteries on 4 wheelers, walked thru waist high weeds, walked woods roads, even talked to a few cows & donkies, been chased by tons of yellow jackets, but have not met up with a snake yet. All is good - LOL. Met lots of real nice folk, especially where the cemeteries are on real private property. I tend to talk a lot, so it can get entertaining. I am retired, so I have a bit of time to fritter away. I do enjoy this. I keep a record of everything I do, so notes have helped when I've gone back to the same cemetery another time. I have gotten to where I'll use sidewalk chalk, but no other method, such as rubbings, etc. More later, G

Saying hello
Kate, wanted to say hi to a fellow researcher. I see that you have recently joined. Our work sure can be fun. I have done extensive work in both Washington and Unicoi Counties. If I can help you at all, please feel free to ask. I have been in many cemeteries and have learned some of the tricks to make hunting easier. If you plan to gear up and do a bunch of photos, I'll hold off claiming the requests that come in. Let me know what areas you prefer. Looking forward to hearing from you. Gordon
