165752471 George "Hutson"
Note the spelling on the marker. Ancestry lists him as "Hutson" also in several places. There are "Hudson"s around him.

RE:Bill Nelms
I don't doubt but that Bill is at Oak Hill. I've asked the OKC caretaker to confirm he is not at OKC (of all the ones we had looked closely at, Bill was not one...didn't know the background), and I will work at correcting both Nelms. A "combined" page would be one that housed all the pertinent info with the deletion of the dup. If the contributor will not do that, then Find A Grave gets involved, which is where we are with these 2. Thanks, please keep in touch, Val

RE:Bill Nelms
Thanks for the info on Bill Nelms...didn't even know that was a problem. I'll take care of it. Ok if I use your scenario of un-response from contributor?Val

I agree your page should not be lost with all your work regardless of the date created. I am a volunteer like you..and have been working with the caretaker of Old Kingsport who is working hard to update records. Together we have been trying to be as accurate as is possible...thus all the traffic with duplicates and editing dates, etc. Thanks for your understanding. I would be glad to send a note to Find A Grave for the combining/ deletion of the inactive memorial unless I am more of a 3rd party and should stay out of that part of it. Let me know, Val

Jim Wright
Is there any information as to who Jim Wright's parents were? and the family nationality? My Aunt had stated in her genealogy papers that Jim Wright was a full blood Cherokee Indian. I'm not sure this is correct.

Rogan Family
Dear Lost Mountaineer,

I have put together an informal, extensive family tree on Excel with alot of minutia which includes part of the early Rogan family which originated with Daniel Rogan's arrival in Baltimore from Dublin, Ireland in 1791.

The Rogan branch on my tree focuses to culminate on Margaret Cornelius Rogan, Daniel's granddaughter and James Rogan's daughter, who married my great great grandfather, after her first husband died in Atlantaville, MS from wounds he received in the Battle of Perryville (KY) where Leonidas Holman Rogan, another of James' sons, was killed in battle and buried in a mass confederate grave.

I have not mapped the branches of other offspring of Daniel, or his son James' siblings, since my relation to the Rogans is via Margaret Cornelius so her siblings were not a priority for my purposes.

I would like to send you the spreadsheet if there is interest and would appreciate any info you may also be able to share. I am certain you will find the spreadsheet very interesting.

The image of the Rogan homestead is great to see----do you know what town/state that was in? I know James Rogan (Daniel Rogan's son) settled in Ripley, MS (Tippah County) where he lived outside of town, was a probate judge and prolific writer, and noted that he walked something like five miles round trip to and from town each day. His family suffered the full force and total war of Sherman's march through Mississippi on his way to Atlanta, where they at times subsisted off the leavings of Federal Army camps for lack of any other consumables, the federal army having confiscated all horses, chickens, cows, hogs, blankets and all manner of clothing for men, women and children as they passed through the area.

Anyway please send me your email and I will forward that to you. MY email where we could exchange more info is:

rpatrickrice@gmail.com

Thanks!

Duplicate William Noah Galloway memorial
As you requested, I deleted the duplicate memorial. Don't even know how the duplicate happened.

On a related point, I had previously found Jacob's death certificate but wasn't able to read the name of the cemetery on the record. I was able to read it on the image which you attached to his memorial, and have since updated my records to reflect his interment at Galloway. My real question is more related to Dora's interment at the Rock Springs UMC Cemetery. I haven't been back there in years so haven't been able to look for myself. Are Gallway and Rock Springs UMC Cemetery distinctly separate cemeteries or was Galloway transitioned to Rock Springs UMC Cemetery?

By the way, my relationship is through Abigail Galloway (great great grandmother) who married a Grills. After years of searching, I haven't found the first name of either her father or husband.
