RE: Lillie E Burns
Lillie E. was 13 years old when she died. Headstone is most likely daughter of St ?? who could be stephen. There is a - between that name and Annie Burns. If you had the correct Annie on the Mormon Census, she may have had other children. I certainly have seen census with only part of the family listed. At any rate, I am very sure you have the correct Taylor burns here in the Cottrell Cemetery, like I said there are other old markers there, just totally illegible. I have been to a lot of the cemeteries in this county & haven't found another Taylor Burns. It appears Annie would have been in her 40's when Taylor died, she may have gotten married and is buried under another name...

RE: Samuel Taylor Burns
You are no bother at all!! Would he have been married to Lillie? She is a whole lot younger, maybe Lillie is the daughter of Annie. That is a small cemetery that I tried really hard to get all the headstone names several times. There are a few that are so bad, they are totally illegible. From my experience, headstones named like that are the son or daughter of the name below them. Do you know Taylor's wife's name? If not, maybe Annie was his wife. Oh well, two intelligent people such as you and I should figure this out soon. Don't you think? I'll study that headstone further when I get more time...

RE: Samuel Taylor Burns
Dates are too close, he died in Claiborne Co, TN. Of course it is probably him, but why did the lady add a memorial in North Carolina when she said he died in Claiborne Co, TN., and also said it was extremley unlikely he is buried down there. His headstone is here, so he is buried here...

Burns
From what I understand from you, there is a person with this name on this site in N.C. The dates I have are correct. Notice how the 8 looks in the dates, all match. Could you tell me how to find the one in N.C.? It may well be the same person since N.C. is not that far away...You know that far back a lot of folks didn't really know their true birthdates, therefore a lot of the census are incorrect...
