I not only research genealogy as a hobby, but I'm also the Local Historian/Genealogist for the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library in Florence, Alabama.
I can trace my Freeman and Ijams ancestors back to the 1820s in Lauderdale County, AL. The Ijams came from North Carolina--where the Freemans came from remains a mystery.
What I have posted on my own ancestors and certain other historical figures is the result of years of careful research and I can provide documentation for just about everything I've said about these people: if I'm not sure about a date or other fact I'll normally indicate that I'm not sure (ca., allegedly, believed to be, etc.). I have tried to be as accurate and factual as humanly possible in the entries on my pages however I'm only human and welcome corrections.
