Bio Photo A journalist by trade, I've finally decided to put my investigative skills to work tracking down my ancestors - some of whom were even more secretive about their lives than I am!
My primary focus is on Taylor/Knowlton/Wise/Merritt/Coffin

Thank You for the heads up.. Harrison H. Ruby and Fanny are on my to find list.. I thought the info from the cemetery records were wrong but I was all to sure....I have dates of death for Harrison and Fanny but no positive place of burial...They are either buried where their youngest son John is buried with his first wife Hannah or someplace behind Alwida Reed and her family.. Fanny's parents are also suppose to be buried the same place.. Fanny and her parents died with in years of each other.. I did not find Achsah in the 1880 census although she is suppose to of not died until 1881.. I am working on the Taylor side of things with another lady.. You wouldn't happen to have dates of death for Harrison and Fanny would you?? All I have was what is recorded in the Weimer and Reed records and the one just lists ages at time of death...Do you have anything on the Confederate Uncle who may be buried with his parents?? I have just about all the Ruby children so I may go ahead and place them and Taylor's buried in John Lyman Cemetery and see if I or anyone else can come up with better info...

RE: alma wise relations
I cannot understand either. I do remember approving some corrections for Alma Wise, I think today, but you are right, they are not showing on her memorial.
No problem, I transferred Alma to you and you can make the corrections.

RE: John Knowlton
Can you check your records?? I found a Laura(Laurin) Forsyth 1866-1892 buried on or next to the Knowlton lot.. I can't find who she is and the grave monument is tiny like its a child but she was 26 years old.. I have to redo the marker but its not going to tell who she was...Just curious if she was a Knowlton or a connected family...I have more Knowlton pictures in the works...I Finally figures out John Lyman and I am not so sure about things their new section is old old family lots with just footers on most of them and their community or Potters field was turned over and given to several families so the upper section is a bit of a mess but I think I have things going pretty good...Just have to make a couple more trips back to try and read some of the older markers and find a couple more things and I should be done...This site is all about the help and at least your not telling me my pictures are crap like the one guy...

I am in the process of cleaning up the Stanfield Cemetery duplicates. I have contacted Findagrave to delete the 2 duplicates so could you please move this memorial to the correct one: . Its confusing but Clarkton and Gideon are 3 miles apart ant the correct Stanfield Cemetery is located at Clarkton in Dunklin County. Thank you so much!! Gaye

Benny Wise Grave
There was no marker for Benny Wise at Cape County Memorial Park here in CApe Girardeau. The records at the Archives in Jackson showed he was buried in Section 3 Lot 44 - next to George and Minnie Hamilton - Section 3 Lot 45. I found their graves but not one for Benny wise so I took a picture of that area in section 3. Sorry. Ruth Smith

RE: Knowlton
I gave up sending stuff to Painted Hills.. They never respond and nothing is corrected.. I found a CW Vet that isn't listed anywhere except on the Veterans page but it doesn't list a cemetery and I really am not all sure why he is buried in John Lyman but that is the way it is...I also found that they had a lady married to the wrong Brother...Find lots of typos as well and that is just in the little bit I did...

RE: Knowlton
I need to go back...I thought most of the Knowltons had been done so was just scouting around and didn't do half of them but now that I know what is going on and they cleared off a new section that turned out to be very old I think there may be more I can do...I already found sever BIG mistakes from what is posted on Painted Hills on just my little walk and I will probably find more.. I don't know what I can do with the newly found section and I don't think any of the Knowltons are buried there but it will be interesting to see what I can find...Always wiling and happy to help
