I may be new to the Find a Grave site, but I'm not new to genealogy. I have always been interested in my family tree. Family was always talked about in my home and our ancestors. Being raised in a LDS home family was very important, not only to those we could see, touch and knew, but for those that paved the way to who we are today. I have been blessed to be apart of a family who taught love and more importantly showed it.
At the age of about 17 I became interested in doing genealogy. My mother was having a hard time tracing her lineage. Her father was separated from family at a very early age. He never spoke of his family except for his sister Anna who he dearly love. Sadly she died tragically do to burns from a gasoline fire at 31. Mom was a homemaker tending to a family of ten, me included.
Time was not an option in doing research, so I took up the challenge. These were the days of micro film. I spent countless hours reeling through census records frame by frame in hopes of
identifying someone or even something. I began to have some success. I found my mother's family piece by piece.
Thirty plus years later these pieces turned into a landslide of family history. I have been bless with ancestors who have been well researched and documented on both sides of my family.
My family includes Mayflower passengers, Governors of Connecticut and Massachusetts, founders of many of the earliest cities of this country. Revolutionary soldiers, civil war soldiers, pioneers to the west, people of stamina and conviction and a quest for a better life for them and there posterity.
Every family has a story, every person has a story. I've shown you a part of mine, What's your story?!

Silas had a stone in Concord Cemetery but I think he also had one in Greenlawn where his parents are buried. It is in section 35 at Greenlawn.

Michael - Transfer of your 4x great-grandfather is happily given. I do not know if there is any information re: Nancy Orders Duff at the Concord cemetery. I live in California and was visiting my aunt in Grove City when I took random photos at the cemetery to post here at findagrave. However, I am returning to Grove City for another visit this month. I am printing out your message re: your 4x great-grandmother, Nancy and will inquire at the cemetery while I am there. I'll let you know what I find. Jeannie

OK
Excellent! You have been going at it a long time also! I am glad I transfered to you already. Yes, you need to get on that bio page. The very first thing I do when someone makes a transfer request is go their bio page and study it. I look for many things to try and minimalize memorials being locked up by new members that collect them and then become non active and are then not communicating. You were SO professional in your request that I saw right throught that blank bio page. Thanks for the excellent work you do and I look forward to being friends!

Michael - I received the information that you sent re: Sarah and other family members. Would you like me to transfer the maintenance of her memorial to you since you are related? I am not related. I just photographed her marker to add to findagrave. Jeannie
