RE: Ludwig Schmaltolz

I haven't been able to establish Ludwig's parentage yet, and am trying to determine if the Schmalholz's from NY City are related somehow. They are also from Baden and could be cousins or brothers? I also haven't found immigration information, but believe I have determine where in Baden Ludwig was from.

I also have a bit more data on Barbara Hesselschwert - Ludwig's wife. If you can share your e-mail I could share some documentation I have found about her. I think you can also send a private message to me with your contact info.

RE: Ludwig Schmaltolz
I guess that makes us cousins. In your research have you come across a Caroline or Mary Schmalholz? They are listed with the family on the 1850 census as being born in Germany and were 10 and 4 respectively. However, Ludwig and Barbara Hesselschert were married in New York in 1846, so I am trying to lerne if there might be Ludwig's younger sisters? or maybe children from a previous marriage?

If you have leanred anything about them I would appreciate it.

RE: Ludwig Schmaltolz
You are welcome. He is my 3x great grandfather as well. Which of his children are you decendent through? I am descendent through his son John Schmalholz, and John's son Bernard Smallwood, and his daughter Virginia Smallwood (my grandmother).
