|Julie A Raupp||Alvin J Cook PHOTO|
I have added a photo of Alvin J Cook. I will also add a memorial for his son Alvin W Cook with a photo. [you may request a transfer it this is your family] I have a photo of the area with their 2 grave markers. If either of the wives were buried on the same lot then there are no markers.

|Ancestry/searcher||George Blanchard/Royal Palm Cemetery|
Hi Jim. My husband and myself go to Royal Palm Cemetery in St. Pete at least twice a week doing photo requests. We've had George Blanchard on our list and, with the help of the office, have the exact grave location - that being Block 142-5-4.
We have looked over that area several times but have come up empty. There are numerous grave stones that have sunken with time, and we believe this is what has happened with George's. What you may want to do is get in contact with the office (the lady is very helpful) and ask her to have the grounds crew place marker flags on George's grave. That way we'll be able to (hopefully) fulfill your photo request.

I live in Holland, Mi but know Oakhill well. I searched a long time for my gr grandparents X4. I knew they were in GR somewhere , but no record. I found that their son was buried there, we found his grave, and next to him were my gr grandparents x4.

|Jay Kruizenga||Dina Baker|
Jim, I just got off phone with Kendra, the Grand Rapids City Cemetery professional. While the old Valley City Cemetery index shows a Dina Baker to be buried there, the actual cemetery records do not have any record of her.
This could be due to an early 20th century fire that destroyed many old records. She pulled up ownership records in hopes of finding Dina that way, but no such luck.
I know from experience that there are MANY old stones in the southern portion of Oak Hill (the old Valley City cemetery) that are NOT in the Grand Rapids index. I have been in process of locating these forgotten souls and loading them to Find-a-Grave.
It is sad but understandable that the Grand Rapids City has no record of these people. They are doing everything in their power to locate every grave and make official record of it.
And I intend to help. If in my daily ventures through Oak Hill I should stumble upon a grave for Dina Baker... I will certainly let you know.
|Jay Kruizenga||Diana Baker|
Regarding the grave photo for Diana Baker, I searched the Oakhill Cemetery index and the only spelling similar to Diana is...
Dina Mindehout Baker 1843-1903
Could this be the same person?
Other than that, there is not a Diana Baker at Oakhill.

You are welcome. I would say the death certificate would be accurate, and the stone a mistake. I have seen it before.

It is beside hers. Do you need a picture of it? I took one just in case.
