I started "walking" cemeteries as a child with my maternal Grandmother. It was a weekly routine after church or when a relative was in town to visit the cemetery. My Grandmother would explain how each person was related and relate stories about each person. My Grandmother was a member of the DAR and interested in genealogy before computors were invented. She kept great records and passed them down. Grandma has been gone many years but she passed on to me the genealogy and cemetery interest. I hope I can h elp others discover their history.

Thanks so much for your works on our local cemeteries. I live in Alpha. Perhaps we will run into each other out graving sometime. I wonder how many markers out there may be hidden under the sod now.

Joseph Spencer-Oxford Township Cemetery
Thank you for your edit suggestion for Joseph Spencer. Can you please tell me the source for the dates? Since the stone was broken off and partially missing when I photographed it three years ago I want to make sure the edit is for the correct grave. Thank you so much.

John V, Cook's obit
IF, and I say IF, you still have his obit or can get a cc of it, I/we need to determine his dates.
The stone pix/dates aren't clear enuff to make them out. Some have sd that John was b. 1819. Census say he was b. 1822, etc. The death date may be 1878 in lieu of the 1873 as his son Henry was b. 1875....

Say he d. in 1878 and was 54 yrs old, then, his b.d. w/b 1824. HELP!
