RE: Odell Gravesite
I love finding tidbits of history like this. I'm going to send you my write-ups on the Cropseys, Straights, and Harringtons. You can ignore all that doesn't pertain to Fairbury, IL; but I found some interesting stuff when I was working on them a few years back. If you find anything in them glaringly wrong, please let me know.Dianne

RE: Odell Gravesite
That's very interesting. It certainly explains why the family was in Glendora. I found this family on RootsWeb and have lots of dates, spousal names, but no locations and no sources. However, Levi's brother Jerome Arba shows to have lived till 12 Apr 1933, and died in Glendora. I should dig deeper into the IL records.
I always have an interest in Livingston Co., because George and Andrew Cropsey (my line)were among the first settlers. And while they didn't stay, I think they were influential in getting the Straights and the Robert and Nancy (Cropsey) Harrington family to settle there. Andrew, George, and Nancy's mother was Elizabeth Straight, sister to Arba.

RE: Odell Gravesite
Thanks for checking Dale,
The information I have is that Levi's parents, James and Mary, both died in Glendora, CA and were buried in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury, IL. Mary's parents Arba and Philena Straight are both buried in Graceland. Arba and Philena moved to Livingston Co., before 1860. James and Mary Odell stayed in Charlotte Center, NY till at least Jul 1860, all their children are born there. But they were in Livingston by June 1870, since their oldest son Edmund died there. They removed to CA before the 1900 census. So I guess for the moment Levi's wife remains a mystery.

Odell Gravesite
Do you know who the 4 smaller headstones are for in this grave plot? I am looking for the wife of Levi Judson Odell 88450196, his name is on the monument. I have that Levi's wife is Mary Mackay and I have no dates. His mother is one of the graves. Her name is on the monument; she is Mary Straight (88450317)(1827-1918). His father's, James Henry Odell (88450268), name is on the monument. I'm assuming that 2 of these smaller headstones are theirs. However, Mary Straight Odell died in Glendora, CA, so maybe not.
