|I was born in Michigan. Lived in the Wayland Caledonia area south of Grand Rapids. Went to work for a major airline ( not a pilot ) and moved to the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Moved to Arkansas to get warmed up, worked at the Little Rock Airport. Moved to Atlanta Ga. for 3 years then back to Arkansas. Retired in 2008 after 36 years. Have been doing my family tree genealogy research for over 40 years. Have been to the Netherlands (fathers side) and to Germany (mothers side) My mothers ancestors came over in 1749 and settled near Harrisburg, Pa. then as the frontier opened they moved west. First to the Akron/Canton Ohio area, then on to the LaGrange Indiana area. From there some branched off into Michigan. My Gr-Grandfather Spidell fought in the Civil War during the Mobile Bay campaign. My fathers side came to America in 1888 and settled just west of Grand Rapids Michigan. My wifes' family came to Arkansas from Georgia through Tennessee. Her mothers maiden name was Pelton and they were the second or third white settlers in the area around Benton, Arkansas about 1816. Her Gr-Gr-Grandfather also fought in the Civil War (on the other side). I love to travel and trace the trails my ancestors took. I have been to Germany and the Netherlands several times, next time I'm taking my camera.|

I agree - it does look like a U to me on the stone.
I'm guessing the cemetery register listed him with the O but the stone has the U. Sadly this member (who set up the memorial) has passed away, but feel free to send an edit and FindAGrave will update it.

11 Dec, 1862, Brant, Ontario, Canada
Sylvester Colborn, age 43, son of Amos Colborn and Anna Robinson and Effie Smuch, age 39, daughter of William Smuck and Anna Swartz.
Returns of marriages solemnized by William S Griffin, Minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
After Effie died he married Diantha Smith on 25 Dec, 1865 at Oxford, Ontario, Canada. Spouse's mother: Ann M Smith
He married Rhoda Walker Leader on 26 March, 1844 at Brock district, Ontario.
The marriage was witnessed by John Thomas Leader and William Colborn.
His 1st 10 children are my cousins, as Rhoda is my 3rd Great Aunt.
Looks like your cousins are wrong, as Rhoda died in 1862

John, am now posting copy of death certificate, obit article, and photos to Frances Borgman memorial. I work two streets over from the house where Frances died. House is now a rental.
|Chris☺☺||RE: Francis Zylma Borgman|
The burial is from her death certificate:
Do you remember corresponding with me about that photo found in your uncle Arno's belongings (Beate Schumann)? We're related through that line.

|Donna Wagner Hodson||Callie Zachary Howard|
You added a photo to memorial #111232228, Callie (Zachary) Wise Howard. That photo also included her first husband, Joe and their children Julia and Donald.
I cropped the photo and added to the other memorials and gave you credit in the caption. The name underneath the photos show my name so I thought I would see if you would like to add the photos to their memorials so your name shows up as the contributor and I will delete my photos.
You are welcome.
