RE: Adding text and graphics to photos
Hi Linda

I took a look at the site. It offers a 7 day free trial, but doesn't indicate the on-going memberships price. Before I site up for the trial, do you know what the cost is?

Thanks
Judy

RE: Elizabeth (Platt) Grovogel
You are very welcome. I was given this photo about 10+ years ago from another researcher. I will look through other photos and see if I have others from this and the older generation.

I just discovered yesterday the online collection of Door County digital, old newspapers and have found some great information in them, even a small obit for Mary Grovogel. The link to the collection can be found through the Door County Library's Sturgeon Bay Library website.

I heard this story too about the land in London. I would think 200 years would be long enough to find proof if it existed, so not sure if I buy into that story.

RE: Geo. & Mary Page
I have not documented siblings or their children. My family is too big. I have 63 first cousins alone so I never document the siblings, just my grandparents, great grandparents, etc.

Which other question are you referring to?

RE: George E and Mary E Grovogel
Sure, I'd be willing :)

My grandpa Bill was the youngest of all George and Mary's children and he was less than a year old when Mary died of tuberculosis. George never remaried. According to census records and stories, George farmed out all the older kids to the aunts/uncles and grandparents and raised the younger ones by himself. A feat unto itself for that day and age.

My Mother was a great family historian so my whole life I grew up hearing the Page stories and meeting shirt-tail relatives. Our summers were spent traveling the US and meeting cousins along the way who were flung far and wide. Sadly, my mother died before I turned 30 and her parents before her. I do remember Bert (Alber), and hearing about Ellery, and Pearl. Some of the others are very vague.

Sincere there are soooooo many to trace, I don't go out of my way to document too many dates for the aunts and uncles. My family is pretty massive. It seems like everyone had 8-13 kids!

RE: George E and Mary E Grovogel
Hi Linda,
We were always told that the name change only occurred in my Grandfather's name from Page to Paige and not George/Mary's name. George's obit and death records still reflect Page.

It was told to us that the grade school staff made an error on William's school records and his family kept it that way throughout Bill's life.

According to William's birth record, his last name was spelled Page ... so it appears that the name change only occurred in my grandfather's generation but after this birth.

RE: George E and Mary E Grovogel
Hi Linda,

I am very, very grateful for the transfers and for your creating the memorials in the first place!

With George not having a headstone and Mary's very worn, there is work for me to do to preserve and honor their resting places for the next generation(s). I will update you when I get them updated.

Thanks, again.

Happy 4th of July weekend.

Elle
