I now live in the Blowing Rock area of North Carolina, but was raised in the Horry County, SC area then known as Simpson Creek. I am attempting to visit the Horry Co, SC and Columbus, Brunswick, NC area cemeteries to take photos to help find some missing relatives, and to help others find burial locations. I also did some work in the York, SC area when I would go to visit my Mother in the Assisted Living Home in York before she passed in 2013.
I take and post these photographs in order to create a permanent record of each persons final resting place. At each gravesite, I attempt to take a close up, a full size, and a family group if in that setting, and attempt to show with one of these the relative area in the cemetery that the grave is located if possible. Please do not be offended if I post a close up or group on a page where you already have a stone photo displayed. I am only attempting to preserve history for the future. At the rate many stones are becoming unreadable or broken, these records may be the only record we have. If an immediate family member would like to replace these photos with personal ones, just click on the edit button and ask me to remove mine.
Please do not post duplicate photos unless yours is tremendously better than the one already posted.

Soles Family Search
Hi There! My name is A. J. Poersch & I have just scrolled through the entire Soles listing to no avail. In 1957-1959 I was in the Army at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas & one of my best friends was Quinn B Soles, he was from Tabor City, North Carolina & had gone to the Univ of South Carolina
I am 83 & he was approximately the same age, his mother at one time had owned the Ford Dealership in Tabor City. I was in contact with him for years & then the last time I called the phone just rings but no answer. He had just lost his wife, I believe her name was Hazel, he was quite depressed & I would not be surprised if he is not longer with us. I would appreciate very much any info about him.. Thanks so much. A. J. Poersch

The posting of yours for Joann Beck states that she was the wife of James Elroy Beck.
In fact...She was the wife of James Elroy Gore, born 1936 and lives in Eagle River, AK.

Assume a memorial for family member
Hello Bob!

Thank you for your service! (another Vietnam brother here USAF, WELCOME HOME!). I would like to assume control of the memorial for Elmer Vossen and Eleanora Vossen, 115275114. Eleanora is my great aunt and I am preparing photos and memorials for all of her siblings, and children, as well as Elmer's. She passed away in 1999. Thank you for all that you do here and for all the photos you have taken.

Find a Grave memorial #61431601
Hello,
Thank you for your hard work photographing headstones!
The Subject memorial is for Carrie Faircloth Grainger Barnhill, but the headstone says Carrie G. Faircloth. I have been looking for a headstone for Carrie Grainger Faircloth. Her husband Benjamin Luke Faircloth (1900-1973) is also buried in this cemetery. My question is the last name of Barnhill -- it is on the memorial added by John Evans, but not on the headstone. Do you have additional information? Did Carrie marry a Barnhill after Benjamin's passing? If so, do you know why Barnhill does not appear on her headstone?
Thank you for any information you may have!

Hello Mr. Vaught,

We spoke 4 years ago when Mike passed away, his ex-wife had a couple questions but is not a member so I asked for her. Hoping you remember me.

Anyway MY Ex-husband Mikes brother passed away last Sept,

I finally decided to make a memorial then transfer him to you so both brothers would under the same person maintaining. however, another person that is actually planning on mapping Cematerys has made a Memorial for him.

I wanted to pass his number along so you can, if you so desire note it in his bio

RE: Simpson Creek Church Cem.
Dear Mr. Vaught, thank you for your feedback regarding the grave requests for the Simpson Creek Church Cemetery. I may have been mistaken about the location of the graves in question. So, I sincerely thank you for taking your time to check this out for me. I will continue looking elsewhere. Thanks again,
